Very nice little spot, everything was wonderful. When I went in the lady greeted me as a friend. They had a good assortment of goods from freshly made breakfast pastries to desserts and even a section with bottled drinks. There was no big billboard menú but everything you can buy has a name and a price right next to it which I like. I prefer to see first what I'm getting. I got myself a total of 6 items: a quiche slice, a ham/cheese croissant, and a regular croissant. These first three the lady offered to warm them up which was very nice. For dessert I got a mini canoli, a chocolate mousse cake, and a creme brulee tart. All together it came out to around $36 including tax which for me is wonderful as most big chain bakeries would charge me at least $50-60 for similar items, and I can guarantee you those big chain bakery/cafe's are only a fraction as good as this place is. Everything was freshly made and I could taste it. The croissant was soft and fluffy, and the quiche was full of flavor. I samples my desserts with a friend and he agrees with me: these desserts are phenomenal. You cannot compare these to anything else. After a big order she offered me to sample some of the tea she had made, which was also freshly brewed. Some fun facts about tea, it is common knowledge amongst Tea Connoisseurs that a bitter tea is a sign of poor brewing as it means it's either low quality leaves or simply brewing for too long/too hot. This is why most people use sugar in their tea to mask the bitterness. The tea I received had no such hint of bitterness, proof of superb quality. It is smooth and mellow with hints of fruit. I will be ordering a cake for my grandmother here at a later date. She deserves only the best and this place certainly...
Read moreI can't believe I hadn't been here before! I was welcomed by wonderful staff and offered a tour of the facility. Everyone focused, friendly, welcoming, and I could tell they enjoy what they do. They were easy to talk to and shared a little bit of what they were working on.
The glass display caught my eye upon entry. They have an assortment of desserts. These are small and can be for one person or shared if you're feeling generous. One caught my eye: Tres Leches Cake. It's a smooth, delicate, white dome filled with soft cake layers and the most exquisite cream. I was amazed that the cake was wonderfully soaked with the tres leches mix and kept its shape and moist texture. Was not soggy at all and absolutely delicious! I shared with a friend. Not because I couldn't devour it, but exactly because I COULD! Not only did I take the Tres Leches dessert with me but a pistachio cannoli, Creme Brulee tart, and Dubai Chocolate dessert.
A few months ago, I was gifted a vanilla cake from here. It was a heart-shaped cake filled with Bavarian Creme and strawberry filling, covered with Italian Butter Cream. It was a great balance of creme, cake, and sweetness. The Italian Buttercream (unlike American buttercream) wasn't heavy. The decoration was hand-piped and gave vintage feels. This combination will be hard to beat for future birthday cakes.
While talking to their staff, they mentioned they are working through renovation, and have some surprises stored. Can't wait to eat (a breakfast croissants) with a matcha while I set up my...
Read moreI was really disappointed when I walked into this place. They seem to have a large storefront, but the inside space with product for sale was minuscule. Popeyes was on one of the big banners outside, and they had one lemon meringue pie. Pastries was something on the banner and there was one cinnamon roll and two scones. I don’t consider scones pastry. There were lots of beautiful fruit tarts and mini cakes that were five dollars base. I had been hoping for donuts and bread and at least several kinds of pie or even a regular cake.
I asked if they have a larger selection earlier in the day and she said no, that this was pretty representative of what they had. The problem is it was only 10 AM. So I’m very disappointed with the selection. Directly afterward, I spoke to a friend about it, and she said that she had been disappointed for all of the same reasons and doesn’t really go there. She works in an office right down the street.
I had stopped there to maybe pick something up to take to their office. Maybe five or six items. It would’ve cost me $30 to take them a treat. They may have had cookies, but they must not have been that great if I don’t remember them. They might just be your standard Factory made that you can get pretty much anywhere.
The place was nice and clean, so if you can afford five bucks for a treat every time, Be my guest. I’m pretty sure this review is going to be deleted since you can do...
