Came here for the first time in search of a good Gyros. What I find that makes for a good Gyros is very simple: pressed beef-lamb sliced off and given a slight char; with thin slices of white or yellow onion; half-slices of tomatoes; and tzatziki sauce on a lightly grilled (toasted) pita. What I’ve encountered here is red onions (please hold), diced tomatoes, creamy tzatziki, with sliced meat on a pita bread. So much potential, but instead it’s another disappointing experience trying to find a good Gyros. What’s more, they’re a Greek restaurant that serves a lentil soup; but no Ovgolemono (chicken-rice-lemon) soup. I don’t know if I’ll ever return to this place. Maybe if they make subtle changes or substitutions? It’s not asking a lot. I can’t express enough for them to bite into a red onion to learn why they’re the worst onions that can be used. They’re too pungent and kill the palate. Good luck if you’re from Chicago, and hope to find a Gyros that’s comparable. You’re going to be as...
Read moreI’ll admit that I would be considered a difficult customer. I had a coupon that I thought would be valid (as I called the store the previous day), so I’m sure I created undue stress because of that. Nevertheless, I can discern the reason for the misunderstanding where there was confusion on the validity of the coupon. While I thought about leaving to go elsewhere due to my disappointment with the invalid coupon, I did decide to stay, and am glad that I did. The food was served very quickly (which was fortunate as I was in a bit of a hurry, which I’m sure contributed to me being a difficult customer) to all of my preferences. I’ll be honest that the portion was a little small, but it still was enough to be satisfying. In addition, it was noticeably fresh and tasty, that allowed me to have a satisfactory dining experience. Most importantly, I have to admire the owner’s ability to stay patient with me while I was creating an issue, along with everything else he was doing to operate the...
Read moreTucked away in a Tempe strip mall, this modest Greek eatery boasts a meticulously decorated interior that caters to both families and individuals. The ambiance strikes a comfortable balance, offering a welcoming seating environment. Specializing exclusively in Greek cuisine, the menu delivers a range of delectable options, all priced reasonably. Guests can choose from individually canned beverages housed in a classic Coke fridge or opt for fountain drinks. The gyro wrap stands out for its perfect preparation, complemented by crispy fries. The hummus and Greek salad, which I've enjoyed previously, maintain the high standard of quality. A slice of their delightful Baklava is a must-have to conclude your meal. For those dining in, the restaurant serves meals on actual plates, adding to the dining experience. Despite the fresh preparation of each dish, the wait time is surprisingly short. Highly recommended for an authentic Greek...
