I've been shooting pool here for over 30 years and I don't think it has changed much in all that time. Ownership has changed in the last couple of years but no substantive changes. This place is tucked way in the back of a massive parking lot for a shopping center whose Golden Era - if it ever had one - happened before the late '80s. Parking is never a problem here. Cash & credit cards accepted.
Old school pool hall and bar. Four bar boxes, seven 8-foot tables and one 9-table reserved for known players and special events (and charged at a higher rate per hour due to the Simonis cloth). Tables are well maintained but the house cues have seen a lot of wear and are in need of attention and/or replacement. League action here twice a week until about 10pm. Once the league play clears out it's locals hanging out for a beer and a game of pool until closing time.
The liquor selection is pretty basic. Don't come here for fancy cocktails or the newest and priciest brands. Bar food (stuff that can be heated up in an oven) is available but nothing to write home about. Jukebox plays your typical rotation of pretty much everything over the last 40 years. Most of the people shooting here have been doing so for years and trouble-makers aren't tolerated. Bartenders are friendly with the people they know and courteous newcomers. But it doesn't take long to be known by your drink and preferred table.
Additionally there are several pin-ball machines that have years of play on them, and one great old-time baseball machine that has decades on it. Outdoor smoking area but vaping inside is still...
Read moreThis does not deserve a star went there no pool tables available, ok bartender says she can put us on a wait list. I ask how many people are on the wait list she says no one. Ok we go on the wait list first in line to get a table. We have a drink and wait patiently. Three tables become available she gave them all to some other people. I go to her and say we are on the list she says my name and then says oh sorry and dismisses me. It appears it may have been racial we are minority and she gave the tables to the Caucasians. I would expect this from a youngster but this bartender age tells me she should have known better. Fair is fair right is right wrong is wrong. We had been there once before and were recommending this place to everyone. I will tell everyone that I meet or know that they should...
Read moreSo me and my brother and sister-in-law and his friend went here and we immediately get in and they tell him he needs to wear a mask and instead of the bartender just offering a mask she just kind of rather argued with us and then I was like you have a mask cuz that's why he's not wearing one it's just like yeah here's some Cool so we get the mask we ordered drinks get a table we're at the table drinking so we take our masks off while we're playing pool and mind you nobody else has their mask on in this whole entire place nobody 45 minutes go by she picks us to make an example out of again when there's about 40 maybe 50 people in here not wearing a mask so we're just like all right whatever we're out...
