I debate giving this Bearology a 3 or 4. I’d say it’s a 3.5 if anything. 5 stars for the staff and decor, set up, it’s really a nice set up. The 3 due to lack of available merchandise and the quality of the drinks and food.
This review is both for their normal menu and the Delon Slayer Mugen train experience. Prices are definitely priced as a money grab, but you expect that with these types of events/pop-ups. $25 for the tumbler that includes a drink and blind pack credit card cover. $25 for the Nezuko color changing mug.
Sadly the one thing I really wanted, the apron for $50 was sold out. Looks like the bento boxes were sold out as well as I I saw people get food in a simple Togo container.
For the Demon slayer experience, I highly recommend trying to get a reservations from opentable. You put down $10/person but you get the credit back during your experience. They do accept walk ins but expect 90min and longer waits. We saw people there before we arrived and still waiting after we left. Reservations is also the way to get the ticket cards if that’s something you want. There’s challenges you can complete while there.
Our reservations were for Sunday at 2:30pm. We arrived early at 2:15 and were seated promptly at 2:30. As stated while making the reservations, parties of 3 or less will share a booth. Not a problem for a party of two, but it can get really tight when they try to squeeze 3 people in a double booth. Beautiful decor and they set the ambiance perfectly. Love the train feel and the moving screens.
Now for actual food and drinks reviews. Their drinks are way too sweet and you can’t say their tea, there’s barely any tea taste at all in their drinks. We got the strawberry green tea, even less sweet, you can’t taste the tea and it’s overly sweetened.
The tumbler, we got the strawberry lychee milk tea. I think these are premade in big batches and again it’s just overly sweetened. It tastes like strawberry milk. No tea and hints of the lychee. Cute tumbler, not even close to being “worth” the price.
The sword churro was fine, $8, nothing special but comes in a paper handle.
Mango mouse was good, probably my favorite item. Very cute.
Overall it was a fun experience, I’d come back for some other experiences in the future (sad I missed the Arcane one). I wouldn’t come for just...
Read moreI've been here twice to get the stamp, and both times, I had a great time meeting new ppl and exchanging the cc skins. Sadly, in this visit, I was missing a stamp since they were mixed up, and I was given the wrong stamp on my previous visit. This time, they were very strict on the reflex game, whereas before, I was able to get the stamp for missing 2. Only when I went up to get my second mafia stamp I was told I already have both so when I went to try at the reflex (for over an hr) I couldn't get them all [they would only give me a stamp for getting it all this time around] since i kept missing 2 or 3 each time. So I left disappointed and drained. I later overheard that they were strict bc they didn't have any backpacks to give out for completing the ticket idk how much of that is true but with the pop-up ending it could've been. The reflect game isn't for ppl with disabilities or mobility issues especially if they're demanding for all of them to be caught. There were a couple employees that made my visit with my friend enjoyable (guy with long wavy/curly hair wearing a hat, he's been great every time, the blond hostess who wasn't there this time & the one who oversaw the mafia game). The drinks and food were as expected. Bento was more than I expected and couldn't finish it. Drinks were OK (I was aiming for the cc skin anyways). After trying for over an hr at the game it left me drain and upset especially since the stamps were mixed before but at least I did improve and got a cute souvenir of taking the L and walking away. Guess we can't win them all. But seriously they had amazing employees who were very patient and...
Read moreThis event was such a cash grab, had the laziest experience at this KnY x Bearology experience.
The booths were a lot smaller than I thought... When we got there we were told that we're sharing a booth with strangers. The waiter then squeezed us into a small booth with another couple. It was awkward because I don't think any of us were prepared to make small talk/eat in front of other people.
When we had tried to order, the other couple thankfully warned us not to get the bento box (the meat rice bento that Kyujuro eats on the train) because they ran out of the physical bento box so they were only selling the marinated meat with rice in a regular bowl for $25. 🙃 We opted not to order. Their matcha churro was also EIGHT DOLLARS. That's MORE than DISNEYLAND and it didn't even taste like matcha. Then their drinks were $7 for a 14oz drink. The tea didn't taste like anything, watery and bland. Everything was SO expensive for the quality. 😭 Also thankfully we didn't order food items because hot damn, there wouldn't have been enough table space. 😂
The other couple wrapped up, said their goodbyes and left, I thought: sweet maybe we'll get a little bit of personal time and enjoy the extra space. Not even 2 minutes goes by and the staff asks us to move to another table to sit with another couple so they can give the booth to another couple that just came in. Why? Just sit them at the booth you're asking us to switch to. We were so frustrated and annoyed that we ended up just leaving because nobody was having a good...
