Top China — Restaurant in Temple Terrace

UPDATE: Well, if I love a place I am gonna praise it! I couldn't wait for a return visit so tonight we ordered General Tso Tofu, Mongolean Beef, and Sesame Chicken. All got our seal of approval. I had the tofu and I rarely find good tofu around here but this tofu was so dreamy and creamy and the General Tso sauce was spectacular. My only complaint was that there wasn't enough veggies to accompany it. While there was a ton of tofu, there was only about four little broccoli spears. Husband insisted I have some of his green pepper and onions from the Mongolean Beef so that made it complete. Next time I'll order a side of veggies with the dish.

This was my first visit to Top China. The grandkids got beef lo mein, pork lo mein, honey chicken and krab ragoon and I got vegetable chow mein. I wish I had taken a photo of the chow mein because it was so colorful. It contained my favorites -- snow peas and cabbage -- plus carrots, brocolli and onions in a nice mellow sauce. This is the first (possibly the last) time eating here. Got the General Tso's and egg drop soup. The place is clean, service is fast and friendly, but the food was nothing to write home about, just okay. The rice was somewhat sticky and they did not serve broccoli with the General Tso's (first time that has happened for me); no noodles to go with the soup and no fortune cookie! : ( On the plus side, the portion size was decent and the egg drop soup was good and fresh. It tasted like it was made with homemade chicken broth and was not the real thick, orange-colored type. They serve a couple of types of Snapple's tea as well as different sodas for beverages. I am HIGHLY upset with this place!!! They decided to change the menu and not let anyone know. I have been eating here for awhile now and they made the best fried whole wings. Now you would think as soon as he seen my number he would have thought to tell me since this is the only thing I get, but nope so I call my order in like I always do and took the 20-30 minute drive I take just to eat here but something was different when I got my meal it was party wings when I opened it but I still paid the same price for PARTY WINGS not the WHOLE WINGS i was expecting….
