This is a great place to stay. Pay no attention to reviews where people say stuff like "while this was a low priced motel"... that's already a snob and who wants to stay around those people? The reason for my 3 stars is b/c of the laundry room. They have 1 laundry room with 1 washer and 1 dryer in this whole hotel. The dryer was broke when we needed to wash some clothes and they didn't have an ETA on when it would be fixed. My suggestion would be to have 1 laundry room per wing with at least a pair of washer and dryers in each room. We had to go to a local laundry mat and while it really was not too big of a deal, you shouldn't have to do that when most places should accommodate for it.
In terms of WiFi, if old dial-up is your thing, then you'll love it. I recommend spending the $4.95 a day on the premium. We love Netflix and YouTube TV since most things on regular stations do not interest me now and you need the additional bandwidth to pull that off. The only drawback is you have to renew it each night you use it. I paid cash up front for the week but you still have to renew it each night. If your not savvy or in the tech business, it could be cumbersome to get back on b/c of the way most browsers act when trying to hit a website to get on an establishment's network (this site is not secure...basically Hilton didn't bother securing the login page to get on so you have to monkey around until the page finally comes up to ask how you want to connect.. free or paid). Free states up to 3 devices while premium is 10. Also, again you'll need to be a geek in order to get Roku to work. That means you'll need to share your connection from a laptop or a smartphone b/c there's no way to authenticate on these without a browser. However, Roku does try to be helpful when trying to connect, but again you need a laptop or smartphone or tablet to connect it to the internet. It took too long to go that route as the login page kept timing out when using those set of instructions. I recommend ICS and bring your local geek (usually your kid) to...
Read moreAnother sub-par hotel with a rundown place that can use a big uplift with a major renovation not so much from outside but more from inside. As soon as, I walked into room, I smelled room full of chemical odor not. I could it figure out what the smell was. It lingered inside for next 4 to 5 hours. The thermostat would not work and showed 80 degrees inside the room. So our choices were just turn turn it off and suffocate for air or keep it running where your bones will start to hurt. At the morning breakfast, juice machine was not working. Eggs and bacon we're stored in a separate container but in the same location or section, so moisture from one will affect the other. So people who do not consume meat will be turned off to try eggs. Bagels and English muffins looked and tasted stale. Coffee section only provide small cups so a large drinkers of coffee would have to keep running to it. At checkout, you will not get a print out receipt for reimbursement if you booked your hotel through a third party such as Expedia. I was told I would get something mail from Expedia within an hour, I never got anything. I had to call again to get something in writing on hotel letter head. Water shower pressure was not great on 2nd floor. I can't imagine how bad it would be on higher floors. On the morning the next day, the hotel key stopped working. So I had to stop at the front desk again to get the situation resolved. The hotel needs a thorough cleaning throughoutand could use clean furnitures for lobby and breakfast areas. Other that, it does provide free breakfast, free parking, decent people working at counters. So nothing special here if you are looking for all the Bell and whistle in this hotel. I would not return to this location and would not suggest to stay at...
Read moreAttn all first responders and nurses. If you happen to mess up your reservation they will NOT help you in any way. Of course I know that booking the wrong date was my fault however, the way that the situation was taken care of was unforgettably inexcusable.
I am a night shift travel nurse who had been staying at this hotel for the past three weeks so in order to sleep in a hotel during the day, I have to book the night before and the same night. I did that, however it was for the day prior. I didn’t realize it until after I got off shift, showered, got into bed and heard housekeeping knocking on the door to see if I had checked out (this was at 10am which would feel like 10pm for any other person). I immediately called the front desk from my room and explained the situation. I asked for possibly a later check out and would be out of the room before 6. The manager refused and stated the hotel was full for tonight and she wouldn’t be able to do that. I asked if there was anything else she could do considering it was late and I needed to sleep for my shift that night. She said “if it were another circumstance, I might be able to do something”. Apparently, a night shift nurse with no where else to stay was not enough.
So, at 11am (which would feel like 11pm) I called three other hotels in the surrounding area and they were also booked for the night. My boyfriend (who is a Hilton honors member) called the hotel and asked the manager if there were available rooms at a different location. She seemed dumbfounded and confused that he would ask such a question. Apparently, this option never occurred to her and was never offered.
So, in total, I was able to shower and change my clothes after a long night shift for $300.
Unless you are visiting for spring break, I would...
