Cafe Trois — Restaurant in Tenafly

We got salmon avocado toast and bacon banana French toast. The taste, presentation and quantity was fine. One big complaint one smaller. The French toast was well prepared with high quality ingredients. It had a caramelized banana and powdered sugar. All good BUT why serve a portion of fake corn syrup maple product? A restaurant of this caliber in this neighborhood should have real maple syrup. The dish was sweet enough that it didn't really need it, but I always enjoy real maple syrup. It just degrades the entire dish by putting some disgusting artificial product on the plate.

The less major complaint was that the bread for the salmon avocado toast was too thick making it unwieldy to eat.

I have always been a huge fan of Cafe Trois! The quality that they promise is unmatched and everyone is always so helpful and friendly. I was recently part of a private event that was hosted at this Cafe Trois and I was truly blown away. To my understanding, they haven't done very many private events before, which is even more surprising considering their flexibility and preparedness. Our party ended up running a bit late and they were still so understanding and took it upon themselves to create a stress free environment for us. To this day, our guests are still talking to us about how amazing the pastries and the open bar drinks were. Thank you so much to HB and Lexie for being the best of the best! I went to this place today hoping to find a quiet place to read a book (actually the atmosphere is very nice) but ended up having a disappointing experience.

Google Maps says that it closes at 7pm. I arrived around 4:40-45pm, ordered food and coffee, and told the staff I wanted to dine in. The staff didn’t mention anything about closing early.

A few minutes after my food and drink came out around 4:50pm ish and the staff came to my table and told me they were closing at 5 PM! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!? I hadn’t even started eating yet. If they were closing early, that’s something they should’ve mentioned when I ordered or when they asked if I wanted to dine in.

There was no sign or communication about the early closing, and the Google listing was misleading. It felt like I got kicked out without reason and paid...
