Sunny Kitchen — Restaurant in Tennessee

Our family has eaten here a few times w/no issue til now—We wont be back! we ordered couple entrees & they forgot the rice for one, which I didn’t realize til after my daughter had eaten a couple bites of her meal. I immediately called them & said I’d be back in 10 min to exchange out our order & get the missing rice—I didn’t want to just pick up the rice bc then my other food would have been cold! Explained that & woman said it was fine as long as we hadn’t eaten it. Went back& young girl @ window took bag. 5 min later a very angry woman came to window & said she told me she was would remake it if it wasn’t eaten (keep in mind the cartons were STILL ALMOST FULL!). I explained my daughter took a couple bites before I noticed the missing rice. She said she would replace it this time but she knew we had eaten it. I was shocked to say the least…not only did I not think a couple bites would be a big deal—but couldn’t believe she went thru the entire bag&opened everything!). Guess she planned to replace the takeout bag & just add rice. But they remade it while I waited & when done, young girl @ windows brought it to me. Of course there was not additional charge but I went ahead & gave her $20 to give the angry woman for the 3 bites my daughter ate. Obviously, our family will...

I personally like the food here better than others around. However, our experience today was enough not to return.

My fiancee absolutely hates mushrooms. He had asked when he ordered for no mushrooms in his noodles. When the food was delivered his noodles were covered in mushrooms. No biggie, we just sent it back to be recooked. When it came back out they clearly had just picked them out because they were still in there scattered. I mentioned something to the young kid in the front about how my fiancee ended up not eating it because it STILL had mushrooms in it. He said, "oh,okay" and that was it.

We both work in restaurants and understand mistakes happen. In this case, however, we definitely gave them a couple chances to correct their mistake. I don't expect someone to bend over backwards for me, but if I am paying someone for a service I at least expect them to do things the right way. If the noodles were precooked with mushrooms they could have told us that, or if it was their mistake by adding them the least they could have done was cook us...

Fast service , location is great, price is cheap, only online order or phone order due to pandemic it seems. We ordered fried rice and it was good as we ordered, not much oil and quality of rice was good. Portions are very good for the price on fried rice and tasted very good. But apart from rice we ordered Hunan Chicken, Kung pa chicken, garlic sauce chicken, all extra hot we asked but we got everything bland and all the dishes tasted same. We wanted to taste all the dishes on chicken appetizer but not expected everything taste the same. Spring roll came with it was good/average. We went their for dinner pickup and around 9 pm , as a good gesture (?) we got free donuts(?) from restaurent and it tasted good. Lady who took the order was patience and got the food we ordered , no confusion on getting the food packed. Only complaint we had was all the chicken dish tasted same.
