This is in response to other reviews I've seen along with my own. Just like other fast food they are not required to visit your table or talk to you in any way. The place does seem greesy but it is a greese place and it feels like it because its always a bit humid so its actually not the greese. The tables are as clean as they can keep it and are like any other fast food place. They can't just "warm" food up. Its hold time on average is 30 minutes. When it gets close to the time limit it might seem old but they are required to serve it because they can't waste money and keep throwing things away because people think or say its bad. After the limit they always throw it out. I work at one of the other stores and what we do is right. If you want fresh food literally just ask for it. And please make sure you read what's in front of you instead of asking because odds are people can find it faster than we can tell you. And the average wait is anywhere from 5-10 minutes. There is almost no way someone wouldve waited 20+ minutes for food unless someone is exagerating. There are timers on how long people waited. You wait 10+ minutes you are offered 1 or 2 small/medium drinks. Up to 15 minutes depending on situation might give out voucher for wait but there are procedures we go through to do it. If someone is waiting longer its because they are also busy inside or its late or just opened. They go by first come first serve so if there's a lot of orders inside you can expect a long wait outside. Its fast food not...
Read morePleasantly surprised by the friendly cheerful service.
I had stopped eating at Long John Silvers (not this one) a few years ago. Seems like the fried stuff was greasy, including the hush puppies, despite fish and shellfish being my favorite. My daughter was hankering for fish and I don't turn down fish - except she wanted LJS, against my own personal misgivings.
Everything tasted good. Still a little too much crust on fish and shrimp - but I can pick off the excess. I remember a time when I used to ask for extra crunchies. Sigh...growing old can really change your tastes.
Not too greasy and what I tasted - did not taste like it had been frying for 10 days.
But definitely the young man at the window was the best part. He suggested I try the lobster. He was genuine in his "sales" pitch. I could tell he genuinely liked the lobster popcorn. So I ordered some and he was right.
We discussed the merits of fresh over packaged lemons/juice - and again the conversation was interesting and genuine.
He packaged up my food and handed it to me. I kidded him about the lobster tasting good or I was coming back to throat punch him. His eyes widened and realized he didn't package the lobster. He ran off to get it - and came back all embarrassed and sorry. I was just delighted he caught/fixed his own mistake. I think he was great. I was distracting him, after all. I just thought more highly of him for catching it.
I'm sure he is not making enough - but I hope his management realizes what a...
Read moreNeeds remodel. Has been the same since I was a child. I'm 31. Jalapeno poppers. Panko shrimp need to make a return. Always has been one of the more expensive of the fast food chain restaurants. Food is unique to long John's in entire area not much like it. You can ask for the chicken naked and they'll cook it without batter which is much healthier , still cooked in oil , and still tastes good. Their chicken is by far the best quality food they receive. I used to work at the same location at 18 Y.O. was fired by long John silvers Facebook admin that snitched on me for releasing that they make the coleslaw in a trash can. Of course it's a trash can only for slaw but who's to say it doesn't accidentally get used as a waste can? That's f373ing gross. Not to mention the hush puppies sit as a paste, in a container around all of the action throughout the day. It's a sticky paste that if you don't keep the lid on anything in the air sticks to it and never comes out without being plucked out. Bugs, dust, pollen, grease, spit from speaking. if it doesn't all get used considering they make a considerable amount at a time it's saved for the next day. I found these two things to be the nastiest practices of the fast food chain. Other than that it was a tight* ship 🚢. Get it?! By the way "crumblies" are just oil filled...
