Sharxs Fish & Chicken — Restaurant in Terre Haute

I've ate here 3 times. The first 2 times was okay, edible. The 3rd time was disgusting. I was asking about the lemon pepper and she said it came on the food. When I got home to eat my catfish, there was no lemon pepper on my food at all. After I ate the food, it made me very sick. There was a lady in front of me that got her food and she asked for tartar sauce and ranch. Employee was like, ya no problem. When I asked for some tartar sauce, the employee says, I already put 2 packs in there for you and she gives me 2 more packets. It was like the end of the world for her to do that. I ordered 2 catfish meals. The customer service was horrible. There was just 2 employees. One taking the orders and the other cooking. I felt bad for the one guy cooking all the food. The lady taking the orders seemed very lazy. She had some free time and was just watching the cook. They both seemed to not want to be there at all. I wasn't greeted when I entered the store. When I went up to order, there was no hello, no smile. I felt like I was bothering her just by waiting to order. The restaurant was dirty. Dirty floor and the chairs and tables were dirty. It was very cold and uninviting. You can tell the restaurant was just thrown together really quick. My guess from what I saw, is that there was some cross contamination going on. Probably why I got really sick minutes after eating this food. The food is overly priced in my opinion. The catfish was small ,thin, and almost chewy. I will definitely not be going back. I do not recommend this place at all. I usually don't right reviews but people need to know and watch out for this place. I will go across the street to Rick's!!! For the same price I could of went to Rick's and got more food. That I know won't make me sick and great customer service. Also, the different seasonings that they have. You have to buy the bottle of seasoning if you want to try it. They don't put it on. It's very misleading. How do we know if we like the seasoning. We don't know. You just have to risk it I guess. If they actually put it on there and let you try it. Then I'd understand the bottles of seasoning. But no, that doesn't happen. If I could give zero stars, I would. Don't...

First time going and as always I try to review accurately. Outside of the building and lot both looked fine, inside, well, let's just say it is tge Taco Casita of fish. For a chain, a very poor lool, and really off putting, especially for a place that has seafood. The interior has food poisoning written all over it. The fries 4 out of 10. Would have been a 10 out of 10 with 2 simple fixes: 1. Use a seperate fryer soley for fries 2. Clean grease. Next, the boneless wings, 9.5 out of 10. Best in town, hands down. They are huge! If you normally order a 12 at wings etc., BW's, or Wing Stop, only order a 6 here because they are so big, 6=12. No hard pieces, buffalo and honey bbq were spot on. Would have been a 10 with a bit more sauce, i suggest getting 2 extra sides if you like them sloppy wet, and i hate the foam containers with tge paper in them. Need to go to black or clear more rigid containers. Catfish 10 out of 10. Under staffed, staff that we dealt with was great. So my friend and I stopped in to check out this new place. I was most impressed by the smiles behind the counter and the kindness they displayed with each other as coworkers. This is a young business and yes I agree with some of the other reviews that the front counter customer service was lacking somewhat. However, I know with my heart that this is simply a lack of experience. As for the food, we both ordered their honey bbq wings. OMG they were awesome. Made fresh and not that long of a wait for freshly made food. We also tried their mushrooms and they were good but your standard deep fried mushrooms. We also tried the livers and they were fantastic. So overall my experience was good. As a business owner, I know how much time and money and effort these folks have put into this place and for that reason I will be back.
