Panda Buffet — Restaurant in Terrell

Just returned from Panda Buffet. The food was good, as it always is. My co-workers and I took a group of 20 people (total 24) to the lunch buffet. All separate bills. We were seated as a group. The waitress brought drink orders. Soda, Water and Sweet and Unsweetened Tea. Everyone had the buffet. Much to our surprise, when the bills came, there was a 15% tip added to each ticket. So because someone brought a $1.75 drink to the table, that warranted a 15% tip. (the added amount was $1.50)The buffet was serve yourself, as it always is. When we asked staff about the tip being added to a buffet ticket, we were told it was because it was a large group. I asked if the smaller groups had a 15% tip added to their tickets. I was told "no". They leave a tip at the table. I informed the staff that the last time we were there, we left an $18.00 tip. Their staff informed me that we did not. Or they "thought" it was us. I just don't understand a tip being added to a serve yourself buffet. So be warned. Oh, and their new menu's that are on the way have the statement that a 15% tip will be added for large groups. This place is so nasty. Dirty carpets and the food....... well nothing is hot and everything looks brown and monotone. After a couple bits of food my stomach started cramping as if I ate something bad. The chicken and by chicken I mean the honey chicken and seame chicken tasted old and dry. Sushi looked old and nothing had any flavor. Corn nuggets were old, crab Rangoon was old and dry. Absolutely nothing about this place is good. If I would have seen the reviews before we went in I would have ran the other way. For the people in there saying it was such a good meal, obviously you have never had a good meal because this was not it. Unfortunately I wasn't impressed with my dining experience. Most of the food was over-cooked and not very hot. There were a few items I did like and had on my plate still in front of me. I was planning to finish eating. However, the server came to the table to take my husband's plate away since he was finished and promptly picked up my plate in front of me and walked away. I still had my fork in my hand with food on it, so it was obvious I was still eating. She had already tried to clear our table earlier when we both got up to make another trip to the buffet to see if there was anything we liked since most of the items we had gotten first weren't good.
