Firehouse Subs Kennedy Lane — Restaurant in Texarkana

Well I should have stopped at the door because that is where a small bucket of trash was overflowing (it had the firehouse logo on it) and there was burrito leftovers about 3 feet from the door. The place is dirty and there were 2 young men behind the counter. One wore gloves-the other did not. I have no problem with longer hair but I would think a hair net might be appropriate especially if you have the ‘Wayne’s World’ hair. Because this was the 2nd place we stopped….we ordered. The sandwich was ok but the place is dirty and I really wish I would have just left. My husband was brave and ventured to the bathroom….which was gross. Sticky floors and broken soap dispenser….no reason to go on. I believe more phone watching goes on than anything…..but that seems to be the norm anymore. Saturday afternoon at 4pm. The place was not busy….only one man and his son came in behind us. I have always had great service at this location. But I walked in @ 8:30pm Friday June 20, 2025. I wasn’t met with a normal welcome to firehouse. But with a woman mopping floors. Continued into the area, notice one man making sandwiches and two others mopping behind the counter. One was walking back and forth getting items. Nobody looked up and say we will be with you in a minute. But held their heads down and continued to be busy. We wait a few minutes and walked out. As I walked out in a loud voice, “ I guess they don’t want my money and too busy mopping floors.” Honestly, I looked at the time and didn’t want to bother them if they were short on time to close. Yes Firehouse Subs in Texarkana does disappoint! On Saturday, December 9 I placed an order at the store for a sandwich tray to be ready on Saturday, December 16. I called on Friday, December 15 to confirm my order and that I would be in to pick it up the next day. I showed up today and nobody knew anything about my order. They called someone who didn’t know anything about it either. I explained that I needed the tray for a Christmas party that I was attending in the next 30 minutes. The workers today apologized but did not attempt to help in any way. I went around the corner to Subway on Richmond Road and explained my situation and they had a sandwich tray made for me in 20 minutes!
