Moved to Galveston the first of the year, and I have lamented the lack of edible Chinese food on the island. We ventured to Texas City today and before we left, I used Google Maps to find all the Chinese restaurants in the area. Found and chose this one based on the recent reviews. They did not steer us wrong on this! First, it is in a non-de script shopping center that doesn't look too inviting. Nevertheless, we entered and due to the time of day, all of the help were eating lunch, so I felt a little guilty interrupting. They invited us in and made us feel welcome. It's a fairly small dining room with probably around a dozen tables. They also appear to do a pretty good takeout business as well. Anyway, after being seated, our waiter was a boy (son of owner) about 10-11 years old. He was masked, polite, and professional. He knew all about the food as well, with good descriptions as well! Since it was a little before 3pm they were still running off the lunch menu, even on a Saturday! I ordered General Tso chicken with WonTon soup, and my wife ordered the Coconut Shrimp and Spring Roll. The food came out in less than 10 minutes both Hot and FRESH! Everything was perfect with no complaints on anything. Our waiter made sure we had everything we needed, including refills. VERY impressed with his maturity and professionalism! When I paid, I was assured that he kept all of the tip. Got extra from us...and we will return. I took a photo of my plate as an after thought, and still had it on macro, so the quality is lacking. But, as you can see, for a combo lunch...there is a...
Read moreWe have hesitated for about a year on trying this place out and I'm so glad we did!! We door dashed the order so not sure about the atmosphere of the restaurant. The food is really tasty and the portions are plentiful. I would however say that my orange chicken could have had a little more shrimp fried rice but for the amount of chicken you get and the huge shrimp in the rice, I can't really complain!! The wonton soup is very delicious 🤤🤌
Edited to add- We loved the food so much that we ended up ordering 3 days in a row (busy schedules) the dinner portion is about the same size as the lunch special, the lunch is in a round container and dinner is in a square one, which to me is the same size just different shapes to make it seem like it's more food than it is. My 11 & 8 yo shared one of the sweet and sour shrimp and it was enough for both kids. Although in the orange chicken & sweet and sour shrimp, there were a few burnt pieces of chicken and some that seemed to not have any shrimp inside the sweet and sour shrimp just fried batter, but it was very few pieces that didn't warrant a complaint. I do however wish they would remove those pieces that are burnt before sending it out. We will definitely be...
Read moreI had ordered online through DoorDash and Quing Quing gave the driver the wrong food. When I contacted the restaurant to tell them that we have the wrong order and the lady asked me what I have versus what I wanted. The lady then says they are sorry and realized that they were wrong and i asked if they could have the proper order delivered to me, first they said I had to re-order (mind you my order was well over $40 with tip), when I asked if the driver could go back and pick up the correct order, they made the driver come all the way back to my house from the restaurant to pick up the wrong order just to get the correct food. Over an hour we had to deal with this. If it wasn't for the driver going above and beyond to insure that we had the food that we spent ALOT of money on we wouldn't have gotten anything but "I'm sorry" I can assure you that my family will never order from there again. There are ways to properly handle situations like this and they most...
