6/5 food, but let me explain why I had to rate 3 star. I walked up and ordered and one of the 3 gentlemen just looks at me and like nods not really sure what he said, so I repeated my order to the same response so I figured he understood and went to pay to be told you " pay when food done " so I waited around for 20 minutes and figured my food had to be done by now so I walked back up to the gentleman and asked him if my food's ready and he just kept repeating what and looked very confused so I said 20 minutes ago when I walked up here and ordered is that food that I ordered ready and then one of the other gentleman walked up looked at that gentleman that I was speaking with laughed and told me give me 5 minutes and ask for my order again so I'm assuming that guy didn't understand me at all and just shrugged me off instead of asking one of the two other gentlemen in that trailer with him what to do if he was confused so I sat around for another 20 minutes or so and walked back up to be greeted by the second gentleman that was talking with me and said give me 5 minutes to which then be told my food still wasn't ready and I had seen five or six people arrive and already get their food so I'm at this point I'm livid and I wait for about 10 more minutes then walk up there and ask if it's ready I'm about to leave and he finally hands in my food that's sitting on the counter that he didn't bother to wave at me yell at me nothing there's only 10 ft away it was raining pouring down rain I'm not a caring nor do I ever give negative reviews but this really ticked me sideways so if the owner is reading this please just make sure your employees understand English. I was speaking it very clearly and it seemed like I was just hitting a brick wall thank you again the food was great but the wait and customer service confusion was terrible I'd have understood once misunderstanding me but not twice with two...

Food is great. Unfortunately, the service at this food truck is lackluster at best if not downright demeaning. I’ve been to this place perhaps 15 times in the last two years and almost every time the main night shift worker has insisted on treating Arabic-speaking patrons very differently than how he treats those that don’t speak that language. He seems to enjoy constantly stating to you that you’ve ordered different items from the menu than the ones you’ve actually ordered. It should be noted that my orders have always been no more than two items. Example: Him stating 5+ times that I said “two chicken shawarmas please” to him rather than “two beef shawarmas please.” Then afterward, smirking and giggling to himself about it. This has happened on multiple occasions. I’ve tried to be open minded and given this place more than enough chances, but unfortunately I won’t be eating here again. Which is a shame, considering that I enjoy the food. I wish the best for this business but I’d like to offer the following advice to the management: Perhaps you should be more thorough in examining the people skills of your employees. The food at Abu Omar Halal is absolutely amazing! I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for delicious halal options. The flavors are spot on, and everything is cooked to perfection. However, there are a couple of issues that have been bothering me. When ordering through Uber Eats or DoorDash, there’s no option to customize your order. For example, I really dislike pickles, but when I order a shawarma, I’m stuck with them because I can’t specify what I want to leave out. I’ve tried calling the restaurant to ask them to leave out the pickles, but no one ever answers the phone. It’s frustrating because I just want to enjoy my meal without having to pick around ingredients I don’t like. It would be fantastic if the restaurant could bring back the customization feature for online orders and improve their phone communication. That way, customers can tailor their orders to their preferences without any hassle. Aside from that, the atmosphere is great, and the service is always friendly. It’s a solid spot for a quick bite or a casual meal. I just hope they consider adding more flexibility for online orders and better phone availability...
