Crossing at Fry Road — Local services in Katy

As far as the big wholesale chain operations I have always considered Costco the best with clean restrooms, reasonable prices and selection of good quality merchandise. If you're looking for assistance in the store you can pretty well forget it, at least at the Katy location where we shop.

My experiences at the Costco tire shop have been dismal to say the least, and I will never purchase tires from Costco again! I had to order four tires because my size was not in stock I also asked to have the pressure sensors changed and wanted to pay in advance for sure they were available. I was told they always had sensors in stock and there was no need. My tires arrived about a week later and when I went in at the appointed time for installation I asked again for the sensors and we're told they were all sold out, so now I have a pressure sensor that never goes off because there is a battery in the sensors that goes bad requiring that they be changed out. My next experience with the Costco tire department was I picked up a nail which I noticed in the Costco parking lot. I went into the tire department and I hope you young man but my vehicle up on the rack pull the tire and proceeded to repair the flat. Then the service manager came pulled him away to go fill propane tanks. Long and short of the story I was there over 3 hours waiting to get my car off the rack. The service manager said I didn't have an appointment and the young man should have never agreed to fix my flat. That's what I call real Costco...

This short stretch of businesses at the end of the large L-shaped shopping center is very tight with minimal parking. I went to the UPS Store. I needed to send a secure package but UPS is so expensive. $24+ for a local 2-day letter delivery is just so huge, but a necessity this time. Luckily, I arrived before the afternoon traffic made the parking impossible. The UPS clerk was clueless as to how to do his job and didn't even know they had thin cardboard 2-day letters. He had been there several weeks. His coworkers had to assist him several times but at least it was all successfully completed. He was friendly and a nice guy, just needed a lot more training..... But it is good having a UPS location on the north side of I-10 in this very busy section of retail businesses and eating spots...

The jungle gym is fun, and most of it is adult sized if you need to rescue your kiddo, but the entrance fee is high. I also don't recommend going on very hot days as the air-conditioned doesn't seem to work well. I would be surprised if the inside temp was under 80°.

Plus, there are REALLY COOL electric motorcycles that can be ridden on a mini circuit underneath the main climbing area, BUT you have to buy an additional card to make it work. 🙄 If you don't want to do that, They are light enough so that you can push it around and your kid will still have fun. it is a...
