Was craving Shawarma, Hummus and other Lebanese food for dinner tonight. Breezed past the typical online options in the Spring/Klein area of metro Houston with a been-there-done-that stance. Landed on Abu Omar food truck’s website and online reviews. Typically don’t go for food truck fare as it tends to be so-so and pricey to boot. Since this was a new option for us and menu looked intriguing with reasonably priced items on it, decided to give it a try. Glad we did! The food truck is situated in the front lot of a car wash on the north side along Louetta Rd, just east of Spring Steubner - next to a Precision Car Care lot. What’s confusing is a competing food truck (Al Reem Halal) located just adjacent, to the west. Turned in there first and then realizing mistake, ventured next door to Abu Omar. Ordered Beef, Chicken and Gyro Arabi sandwiches and Gyro and Rice platters. Passed on the Hummus as the person taking our order was honest enough to mention that they buy it from elsewhere and resell at a premium ($4 for a very small tub). The food was delicious, reasonably priced ($60 for 5 platters, including 18% tip and taxes) and plenty..the Arabi sandwiches came in toasted, crunchy, bite-sized tortilla pieces , the meats were very tender and tasty. The accompanying pickled veggies had the right amount of tang and the crispy French fries were very well seasoned! The Basmati rice was also nicely flavored. All in all a very good option in the area...service was very friendly and food was cooked to order - hence a 15-20 min wait. There are clean picnic benches in front and next door are a smoothie truck and a Korean-Mexican fusion food truck! Intend trying out both of those next time. Abu Omar has become our new area favorite for Lebanese food!...

Used to go to this truck on Louetta to buy only one plate as it is the only plate they have gluten free for my wife it is called Halabi platter, been buying it for over a year now, I go there and they have a new guy , I greet him and try to make an order he makes me wait for about 15 minutes till he fill his door dash and Uber eats orders, no problem with that.. when I start ordering 20 mins later he tells me he doesn't know what the halabi platter is and refuses to serve me in a very rude manner, like I am lying to him when I am telling him it either meat or chicken shawarma or mix without bread , only meat with salad and pickels and Thomia garlic sauce, he goes off lahm we dajaj la la la I cannot , we never do that , well its on the menu and I am not lying to you !!!!!

Eventually after 30 minutes of wasted time I made a decision not to buy from these guys again , if you can't train your people on your own menu ,I really don't need to do business with you and I have been your steady customer for over a year , even ask Adam about this very unpleasant situation he watched the whole scene .

Truly very unpleasant experience , I'd rather drive 45 minutes and get my gluten free shawerma and mix grill from shawerma boss and have a better treatment than drive five minutes and deal with such...

We placed an order online this week, at around 6:30. My husband drove 30 minutes to pick it up and at 6:44 got a text notification that the order was ready. He arrived at the location to pick up our order but the person at the location said our order was never received. Our credit card was charged, but a detailed receipt was never sent. I tried to remember what it was and told the guy at the food truck and he wrote it down, walked off and my husband thought he was doing something, but no, he just left the place completely. The next guy walked up 20 minutes later and asked if he was waiting for something and my husband said yes, my order. So they went through the whole order again, and the guy made the order meanwhile another lady walked up after placing an online order that never made it to the location either.

Who knows if we actually got what we paid for. Decent food, but not worth the two hours that it took to get and not worth the headache and poor customer service. It was a large order for our whole family and was a $147 charge.

I’ve already reached out via their “contact us” on their website with...

The five-stars are coming from a certain population that aren't aware the richness of arab streetfood because this place was disappointing if you know your shawarma. I guess the only plus side was that my money went to a local business than regret spending at a chain. Although next time i'd opt for whataburger if im on road at midnight. I got the chicken zinger with fries at $13.5 and the chicken was not zinging, the garlic sauce was weak, and the fries felt like they were made in a cardboard factory. The fries had a low potato content to crisp ratio, so dry, it tasted like a choking hazard. The tortilla wrap was grilled beyond needed and became charred. They had four pieces of pickled veggies which look like the ones that come out of a store-bought jar and it didn't include pickled-turnip as they should. Overall I'd give this place 4/10. Believe the disappointed customers and spend elsewhere lol. This L is on me.

if I could give it 0 stars I would, they don’t deserve a single one, yesterday I placed an order at the place the person who served me was very arrogant and rude, he was overcharging me on my order, I asked the prices and when I ordered a beef shawarma and an order of falafe for 28.50 when the falafes cost 5 and the shawarma 12 and I told him that my charge was wrong he was charging me more and started insulting me and telling me what was wrong with me, I had to get rude with him because he wanted to rob me, he checked my ticket acted crazy and told me that he could give me a free umus or drink, I didn’t want anything just don’t do that don’t rob people!!!! They gave me the order very wrong I don’t know if it was because he wanted to rob me and I didn’t let him, ask prices before if you go here!!!!

Food truck serving chicken strips, shrimp tacos and chicken wings. They offered a good selection of items as well as servings. I like that the chicken sandwiches can be ordered with 1 or 2 chicken strips. I can't eat a lot and it was perfect. It was our first time and we were offered a chicken strip sample which solidified or choice to stay and order. Their strips are really good (and large). I also really like the regular cut french fries. We ordered: large loaded fries, 2 chicken strip sandwiches and wings with french fries. We got a medium spicy dry rug on the wings., which for me was mild. I will get spicy next time. I wasn't too sure about the spice so I didn't want to order something I couldn't eat. Everyone was pleasant at the window and helped with menu choices.
