This is what my daughter and I had experienced at the Drunken Oyster on Thursday, July 28, 2022. We thought we would have dinner for her 46th birthday. This is not the first time we have been here we love to come here with our family especially around crawfish season. I can assure you that in the past experience it was nothing like am about to tell you. My daughter and I entered the Drunken Oyster on this day it was emptied no other customers but us. The person at the front didn't greet us as we came in nor made us feel welcome. So, my daughter asked the person at the front counter for a menu, but she was hesitant about getting a menu, so she finally gave us a menu and we went and sat down. Then another person female came out from the kitchen and just looked that was odd. Then there was a male who came out from the kitchen, and he looked as well. But no one said anything to us not even may I take your order. Now, I told my daughter let's get out of here this is ridiculous we just left the menus on the table and walked out the way they are acting was unbelievable! So, as we left, we saw two other people going in and I said to my daughter I wonder will they be treated like we were treated. I don't want to make this a racial experience, but it sure had the undertone of one. And like I said prior this establishment was no way like this in the past. We had good service and the people were so friendly, and kind. The food was great. I wonder had the management changed I don't believe these are the same people. And to the manager you need to have customer service training for your staff on how to meet and greet your supporting customers. Anyway, we went to another restaurant, and it was like day and night they were friendly, kind, and treated us...
Read moreThis place was okay. We went on a weekday a bit past lunch time. We ordered a seafood boil of shrimp and snow crab. Beware, the PHYSICAL menu shows one price and what they ring up is a different price. Shrimp on the menu shows $18.36 but rings up $19.10 I believe. The snow crab price on the menu is $23.89 but rings up $28 something. They don’t tell you unless you’re looking at what they are ringing up, you get a slight discount if you pay cash versus card. The boil itself was okay, the corn was overcooked and it wasn’t as flavorful as other boils I’ve had. You get to pick between garlic butter, Louisiana, or mixed. One of our boils was mixed, the other boil was only ordered with garlic butter due to my niece having some. They delivered two mixed seafood boils, and when asked which one was ONLY garlic butter they pointed to one out of the two. They looked and tasted the same, my niece was not able to have any due to the slight spice. We also ordered drinks, which they forgot until reminded. The margarita didn’t have a salt/tajin/sugar rim, it tasted like mango margarita mix concentrate, even though we asked for specific tequila. Overall, it was okay. It’s around the corner from my parents home so it’s convenient. I wouldn’t return unless they have...
Read moreI wouldn’t recommend that place to anyone. The customer service is horrible. When we walked in the door it was a group of people to the left of us eating and they all starred looking at us as if we didn’t belong there. Once we reached the register it was a man and a women up there. The woman was “semi friendly”. She started taking our order. I ordered shrimp and fries and my grandmother ordered shrimp, fish, and oysters. The whole time we were ordering the man was staring us down and making little side faces all the way up until we pay. It almost seemed like he thought we were going to pay so he just wanted to make sure. It was very uncomfortable but funny at the same time. We sat down and the table was clean surprisingly seeing as too all the other things didn’t look so clean. The wait time was not so bad it took about 10 to 15 minutes for the food to come out. Everything looked great when it came out. The shrimp were good and my grandma said the fish was mediocre but the fries were soaked in grease and the oyster were ridiculously horrible. Now the only reason we went there is because my grandma loves oysters and it’s called drunken oyster. As we were getting up and leaving they just stared at us not saying goodbye or thank you for...
