Skin Stories Tat2 — Local services in Spring

I was sent over to this shop last night because the other one I went to previously “Ink Injections” shout out to that shop as well. Majority of the people are very welcoming, understanding, and overall good vibes and energy because for me that’s all that really matters but for you it might be as simple as the decorations and set up of the shop or as complex as you have been consistently overlooked, disrespected, and/or just not even being treated with basic human decency and that goes for the very creative and talented artists at these two shops and their VICTIMS… Yes OMG I AM JOKING… anyways, y’all it’s ok to smile, and laugh at stupid things. Life just really isn’t that serious. Anyways before I get on my soap box, if you feel like you are lost or don’t belong in this god awful country, state, and city. I promise you there are good people out there, and before you tell me, “but that’s what I’ve been told for days, weeks, months, years!” Ik y’all I’ve been in therapy for 6 consecutive years and I am for the first time since I was 14 years old I have felt comfortable in my own body, presence, and beliefs/morals. If you want people who will listen to what you are asking to get tattooed, or just listen to you rant for awhile. These are the people. Specifically I received a tattoo from Mike and a piercing from Kaylee. They were so incredibly understanding but even if u feel like no one has been listening to you or your concerns. I have yet to meet all the artists at this shop, but as a spiritual person that goes off of energy, both shops exceed expectations! And unfortunately I fear as I’m reading this back I definitely got on my soap box, but those kind of interactions can truthfully save someone’s life! I will attach pics at the bottom. The tattoo that Mike did last night is the one on the arm and the lower leg photo was my idea and he nailed it and even redrew the lily’s in the background when I told him I wanted them smaller and in greater quantity. Also the eyebrow piercing was done flawlessly by Miss Kaylee, and she kept me distracted and talking and breathing through the piercing process even though I have had multiple tattoos and piercings I received the same treatment a first timer would! Overall awesome job by all these beautiful souls!

At the end of the day I find purpose in supporting, loving, and helping others and that is not limited to people. I believe very living being carries energy with them and that our bodies are temporary place holders until we are able to learn how to unapologetically love ourselves!

P.S. I have been drug free other than the prescribed ones for my Bipolar since I walked out of that tattoo shop last and I’ve only taken a 2 hour guided sleep hypnosis last night when I got home. Other than that I have been awake since 2:45 this morning when I walked backed to my house that I’m getting kicked out of because I refused to go to an in-patient facility voluntarily after I was released from the hospital because I didn’t meet criteria to be admitted or to even be a flight risk. Anyways that’s it!

TL/DR: Tyler (@inkslingingslasher) rocks! Skin Stories is an awesome shop—It is super chill and always clean. I’ve been extremely happy with my tattoos done by Tyler, and piercings I have gotten here have each gone smoothly and healed well.

Someone always greets people when they walk in, and I’ve never had to wait long to be checked in and get in line. There are stools and benches for people to sit on while they wait their turn. Please note that this shop is CASH only! There is an ATM at the front of the shop that allows you to take out $200.00 at a time – Come prepared, if you are getting something done, or be ready to pay a fee for the ATM withdrawal. There is also a vending machine stocked with snacks and drinks.

I got my septum pierced on my first visit back in 2022. I came back soon after for double lobe piercings on both ears. Mid 2023 I went back in for a rook piercing. Not all of these were done by the same piercer, but they have all healed well, and I always felt comfortable in the shop’s piercing area.

End of last year, Tyler posted some flash that caught my eye, and I scheduled an appointment. The flash piece I wanted didn’t fit in the spot where I wanted it; which was bittersweet, but I paid a deposit and set up another time slot with Tyler to get a custom design. I have now gone to Tyler for eight tattoos since last December.

Tyler has made getting tattoos as easy and enjoyable as they could be—He is super friendly, transparent with all the steps he takes, checks in on you during the session, and he is always accommodating when I’ve waited to change a design, color, or placement of a tattoo. We don’t start until I am completely happy, and each tattoo has been true to the approved design. I already have three more of his flash pieces on my wish list!

I’ve seen some cool pieces done by other artists, too, while at my appointments. Make sure to check out each artist portfolio (on the front counter in the shop), or their online profiles, and see who’s style works bests for what you’re looking...

I went here to get my nipples pierced and it was such a great experience. I walked in and Priscilla talked to me and really helped calm my nerves. She’s very friendly. Frankie was my piercer and he was informative, calming and very accommodating. He made sure I was comfortable and talked me through the entire process. The piercing was painful (the intense pain was over in under a minute) but Priscilla stood next to me and held my hand and Frankie helped me with breathing and let me hold on to his leg. I almost passed out and Frankie and Priscilla took really good care of me with giving me a glucose gummy, wiping me with alcohol, putting on the fan and giving me cold water. They stayed with me and talked with me until I was feeling better and then Frankie explained after care. I was well taken care of.

I took my husband the next day to get a tattoo done by Javier. He was also very easy to talk with, he made us feel comfortable and laughed and talked the entire time. My husband was very satisfied with the design and finished tattoo. He is a very experienced and capable artist and we would definitely be going back.
