I am very disappointed in this place. I am a regular and have been since they opened many years ago. Over the course of the last few months, many issues have come up no only with me, but three of my friends that regulars as well. Here are the issues:
Managers: The manager has changed from Diego to Francisco and another new one that I do not know his name. Diego was awesome and very accommodating. Francisco, his brother, is nothing but rude. I was on the list recently for a bar seat and when I was seated by the hostess, Fransisco came up to me telling me I need to get on the list and cant skip the line. I told him I was on the list and to ask the hostess. A few weeks later (COVID time) 3 of us wanted to sit at the bar together and was told we canât. We pulled up a chair as it was very clear there were several groups of 3 at the bar spread out. There is no reason why we shouldnât be able to also. Then he told us he wonât âhelpâ us out again, whatever that means....
Bartender: Amber used to be a bartender there and she was very polite. Pati is the new bartender and she used to be very nice. About two weeks ago me and a friend were eating at the bar and I asked if she could get someone to clean up the booth behind us for a man that was waiting for a booth (we moved from the booth so him and his family could sit there and there was no wait for tables except for a booth as all were taken). Pati rudely responded to me that ask the hostess as that is not her job. When I asked about my food (it was ordered over 30 prior to asking and it was a kids meal) she rudely said that can you see we are busy. To top that rude response she then said maybe yâall can come back when itâs not so busy next time. My response: we have been regulars for a long time now and it never takes this long and I asked you politely, you should never talk to a customer like that and I didnât appreciate it. She hasnât spoke to me since, not even a hi. On top of that I tipped her well every time.
Servers: I understand there has been a lot of changes with servers due to COVID. Some of my Togo orders were wrong but I understand they are still under training. The biggest issue has been with a server that is Diegoâs and Franciscoâs father. Heâs usually nice and says hi but he has hit on my mom many times in the past years. Unprofessional but I usually let it go. Recently me and two other regulars where eating dinner at a booth and had a few margaritas with food as we usually do. The next day my friend misplaced some items and called to make sure we didnât leave them in the booth, the unprofessional server I mentioned earlier said nothing was left and we are only allowed 2 margaritas per the manager next time over the phone. I assure you we were completely fine and even had drivers.
I want to mention that Adrian a server and sometimes a manager and is VERY polite and I wish him the best!
This is where I draw the line with this place. Me and my friends have been coming here weekly for years and never had an issue with margs or even the staff for that matter until recently. Itâs very sad to see the managers and staff are dragging...
Read moreSometimes you just get that kind of service that makes you write a review. Normally I don't post bad reviews as we prefer to move on and go to different places instead but today the amount of indifference we got at this restaurant was too big to just let it pass. We arrived for lunch and walked in and there was no host or anybody to greet us, no big deal, we sat at the bar and the bartender promptly asked us what we wanted to drink. We placed our drink order ( Alicia's Rita's)and then proceeded to check the menu. We got our drinks (he didn't know how to make them so he asked for help from a lady dressed in black with a long ponytail) and then he started doing something else with some tickets ( I think he was closing), I had to get his attention to order our food because he never came back to ask us what we wanted to eat. We placed our food order and that was the last we saw him. He put on a small backpack and walked away. There was no good bye, no somebody will take care of you or I am leaving and the next person will take care of you.. nothing! By now my wife wanted a second drink but there was nobody to order. There was only a lonely server that looked rather miserably delivering food to the other 3 tables occupied inside the restaurant. He finally delivered our food and asked us if we wanted another drink. My wife placed the order and I asked him about the bartender and his response was: "he went on break" looking rather annoyed that I asked and he waved his hand. "I'll tell the manager to make your drink". Same lady dressed in black came back to the bar, made the drink and left it at what we assumed is the server station and went back inside the kitchen. The drink sat there until the server came back to pick it up and delivered to us. She could have easily just turned around the other way and give it to us but she didn't even acknowledge us. We were just about to cancel it but the server brought it to us just then. By now we were pretty annoyed at the lack of professionalism and " don't give a damn " attitude that everybody was displaying. I asked for my check and coincidentally it arrived rather fast. We paid and left and we didn't get a single good bye because there was nobody there. Needless to say we won't be coming back and we would rather go to a place were employees give a damn. In this era of COVID and restaurants barely surviving this inflation is rather incredible that nobody in this particular restaurant is interested in bringing business back or trying to keep the current...
Read moreThe server I had tonight was awful. The other servers said his name was Luis. I'm a server of 15 years. I've worked everything from Applebee's, Chuy's, to fine dining at Brennan's of Houston in midtown. This guy was awful. He was rude. I ordered the mushroom enchiladas and he brought me mushroom and spinach enchiladas. When I questioned if these were the mushroom enchiladas he said they were mush spinach and walked away real fast. I ate them. I was there with my husband and brother to meet my brother's girlfriend. I didn't want to make a big deal. Our server was distant and barely stopped by our table. He bright my brother 2 full size to go cups for his leftover black beans and a half eaten cup of tortillas soup. He went to the bar to exchange them for something more manageable. He dropped off our checks with no words to say picked up our cards... Still no words and returned with out receipts in one cc holder and still didn't say anything. He was right there to pick up the receipts with the tips as soon as they were placed in the holder. Never saying thanks for coming in or yall have a good night. Literally no words to say to us. It was the worst experience ever and I missed my favorite dish. I ask the servers for their manager and they told me he's in a meeting with the owner right now you can sit down and wait for him. It was the worst experience ever. My husband had an additional experience to add to this too. He told the server he wanted to wait to order drinks until I returned from the bathroom and after 15 minutes of Luis walking around us he went to the bar to order. I called my husband back over and Luis had this look on his face like he couldn't believe we were there in his section. I tried to tell him maybe he's had a rough night. I've been there but I've never felt like I owned the place and I could be a complete jerk to a customer. From our first drink we were taking about how this guy probably spit in our drink and didn't even understand his problem with us. Sorry Alicia's. No 20% off our next visit of 2 people would make me go back. Thank you for the great dishes and mostly great service. Please replace people like Luis in...
