Ambriza always has a great atmosphere and "feel" to the dining experience. All of the staff are incredibly welcoming, make you wanted, and seem to genuinely care if you enjoy your experience. The menu rotates occasionally with seasonal specials and some "just because" specials that the cooks or owners just wanted to try. All meals we've ever had there are consistently very fresh and very good. And everyone at our tables usually takes a chance to try each of the dishes we each chose. In addition to the great atmosphere, caring service, and delicious food, there are other small things that just make it a pleasurable experience. They often offer a g ginger cleansing and wellness shot that certainly does it's job of cleansing you sinuses and waking you up for a bit. Similar to other restaurants, one of the owners or managers is usually on the floor checking in with tables. The difference seems to be that when they ask how everything is going, they actually want to know. They will stand and ask follow up questions and have a short chat with the table about the experience if the table is inclined. It doesn't feel like they are just checking a box on one of their tasks. All of these features that make the experience better for the customer also makes it more likely that you might have a bit of a wait to get a table during peak times. Good food, good service, and good experiences mean that more people want to go so there might be a line. The good part about the restaurant not being very large is that it seems well sized to the kitchen and there is not usually a long wait for food.
The bar area is actually a bit separate and you can go just for drinks as well. Similar to the main part of the restaurant, the service is great, the food and drinks are fresh and great, and the bartenders are friendly and welcoming. Since the drinks are all fresh with fresh ingredients, it's not always very consistent on some drinks. Any of the drinks that uses the fresh poblano pepper juice may come out a bit different from visit to visit just based on the batch of peppers. I find it to be a good thing and if it comes out too spicy or too mild, ask for an extra splash of fruit juice or pepper juice. There are not a lot of seats in the bar area (15-20 maybe) so it can also be a little wait to get a seat. It feels very deliberate that they have less seats and less tables overall than they could squeeze into the place to keep it serviceable by the size of the kitchen and bar.
Overall a great time each time we go with the only disappointment being a long wait to get a table at some...
Read moreI originally experienced extremely poor customer service for a take-out order, but this review is edited to reflect that the restaurant DID make meaningful efforts to reach out to me a couple of days later to apologize and address my concerns. I sincerely appreciate that. However, I am leaving most of the incident summary in place, so that hopefully it doesn't happen to somebody else again. There were three main problems -- lukewarm food, missing entree, and poor resolution of those issues by the manager on the premises that particular evening.
First, I ordered through the website for a specific pickup time, but because of traffic I called to say that I would be about 15 minutes late and I specifically requested that the food be kept warm until I arrived (two appetizers, two entrees, plus a dessert), and the staffer said yes, of course. Yet, when I arrived, my order was simply sitting in a bag on an open counter across from the bar -- so I needed to microwave everything when I got home.
Second, when I got home, I noticed that the most expensive entree was missing from the bag, even though the entree was clearly listed first on the receipt (and I prepaid online for the entire order, with tip, for a total close to $100).
Third, when I called the restaurant to notify about the missing entree, I got passed between 3 different people, eventually ending up with the manager on duty. That manager acknowledged the mistake but offered a refund only for the missing entree or the choice to wait at least 30 minutes (!) to re-do the entree and pick it up myself, with no other compensation for the delay. I asked if they could at least deliver it, since delivery is offered on the website and I was only a 13-minute drive away. However, that manager said no delivery of my missing item, just pickup myself 30 minutes later if I wanted it. Since that would mean delaying my meal with my girlfriend (and it had already been another 10 minutes dealing with them on the phone), I just told the manager to issue a refund to my credit card for the missing item and refund my tip. Needless to say, I was disappointed by the people on staff that night for not resolving a problem that they created by forgetting my entree. However, I am willing to give them (the Ambriza Vintage Park location) another try after other people in management have convinced me that that is not the way they typically do business. It was a tough experience that night, but I appreciate the sincere follow-up and I am willing to give them a...
Read moreSad to leave this review. First time eating there April 15th, 2025 & I was treated poorly one of the female mgrs. She racially profiled me the entire time. I actually went to the wrong restaurant & just stayed. Cute decor, lots of seating, my server was kind, but the food was awful imo. I ordered enchiladas & it was the absolute worst I've eaten. The meat inside was seasoned awful, the rice was even worse. Im used to authentic mexican food & this is not it. It was sent back. I did enjoy the taquitos & ordered twice since I lost my dinner due to the taste. Sum kind if green sauce. Yuck. The female mgr was racist, stood at the door, staring, arms folded, looked me up & down. She literally stood across from me the entire time. When she walked off she had sb else stand there & watch me. It was so obvious other guest left. She would walk up to my table, stare at me, looking mean, disgusted, & irritated w/oncause. She stood next to me, looked into my purse multiple times bc it was open a bit, & then whispered to a mexican male server. She was asking my server lots of weird questions & it seemed she was uncomfy. I also offered to pay 4 the enchiladas as well. 🙄. The mgr was so obviously petty, racist, & rude that it created a awful experience for me, I was humiliated, uncomfy, & confused. She would just walk up to me, lean over me, & was very threatening. My fiance was on FT & saw the entire thing. I will never return there, I paid 4 my food, tipped my server well, & left. As I was leaving the mgr ran out, ran towards me, & stood at the edge of the outside patio til I was gone. I am so confused on her behavior. I heard her ask the server "did that negra pay 4 her food?" 😡 DISGUSTING!! I was singled out w/o cause. The next day the other female mgr did apologize 4 her, gave me a gift card, & did hear me out. It doesn't make the situation right. I was told they typically have "celebrations" there so I guess me eating alone pissed off the racist mgr. Idk a girl couldn't catch a vibe by getting lost & deciding to eat there. I will never...
