TLDR: you won't be disappointed with the cheeseburger and fries are very good. The chicken fried steak, mash potatoes, and taters tots will disappoint you.
I order a cheeseburger basket (basket means a dollar more =sides, in this case French fries), and chicken fried steak with white gravy, Texas toast, and mash potatoes with brown gravy (no salad, replaced with tater tots ).
In total, the bill was 29.21, 11$ (no tax) for the burger basket.
Overall the burger(taste exactly like an Angus burger from McDonalds but with a slightly better patty and about 5x as much pickles and lettuce) and fries are definitely worth the price and I would recommend to tell them not to make the burger a forest with all that lettuce and pickles. The French fries were crisp and slightly poatoey with a great seasoning
However, the chicken fried steak (recommended to put gravy on the side) and all it sides was a let down. The Texas toast was just white bread toasted, not too bad. The mash potatoes were slightly grainy and too smooth, the white gravy was thick and mushy, the brown gravy was slightly better but not a strong taste profile and combined with the mash potatoes was a let down. The tater tots were definitely fried but lack any potatoness about them and was more of an oily taste which is disappointing. The big one, the chicken fried steak batter could not hold onto the steak and a little bit too chewy for my liking.
The decor is acceptable, but it has definitely age quite a bit, if you're sensitive about cleanliness do not come here.
Honestly, the best part was the server/hostess, they're more attentive and polite then every restaurant I've been in, though you can tell that the waitress was new due to the way they handle your order.
Overall, 8/10, majority of this score going to the server/waitress/host, then the burger and fries. The chicken fried steak didn't help in the slightest alongside the tater tots, mash potatoes and both white/brown gravy.
On a side note, don't bring your politics in here and it seems the cooking staff were arguing with one another providing a slightly anxiety...
Read moreI do not write reviews for the places I go, good or bad. However, I have never been more disappointed with the way I was treated in an establishment. I used to love coming to this restaurant with my dad when I was a kid, we used to think it was cool to go there because my sibling's name is Bailey too. We used to love the food and the atmosphere. I haven't been in years, so I was excited to take my boyfriend to a nostalgic restaurant from my childhood. As soon as we sat down I noticed the excessive Trump propaganda. I immediately felt uncomfortable as did my boyfriend. He knew I was excited to eat there, so we decided to stay. The owner or manager was our waitress and was talking politics with the table next to ours loudly enough for the whole restaurant to hear. I took my phone out to take pictures of some the "decor", I think she saw this and did not like it. When she took our order she was very abrasive and short despite my effort at friendliness because I remembered her from when I was a kid. The food was admittedly very bland, not how I remembered. Also, the building could use some updating, the booths had holes in the seating and the ceiling had moisture stains. The whole time we were eating she seemed very annoyed with our presence. When we paid she seemed annoyed because my boyfriend paid with a card, not cash. Maybe some people just have bad days, but upon reading reviews, others have had similar experiences. It felt like she was judging us based on how she thought we would vote. My views align with Republicans and I vote accordingly every election, so for her to judge her customers based on how she thinks they will vote is wrong and very unprofessional. Of course everyone has the right to their beliefs and a right to say what they want, but the lack of respect for customers was not okay. Bailey's has definitely cultivated the kind of customers they want to serve and have made sure to let anyone who doesn't fit into that category know they are not welcome. We went for a nice breakfast and left with a bitter taste...
Read moreStopped by here about a month ago after church. Food took a long time, probably 30-40 minutes to get to the table. The owner/manager was very apologetic to all the customers. She said she had given her regular cook the day off, and it was taking longer than usual. She offered everyone in there a complimentary cobbler for their trouble, which I thought was a stand up thing to do. Came back today again for lunch. Was only about 50% capacity, not crowded. Wife and I ordered our food. After a slight delay we got it. About 10 minutes in, We told our waitress that we would like to place an order to go to take to our son at home. We finished our meal and waited...and waited....Asked about the order several times. We got "It's coming soon" about 10 minutes later, It's being boxed up now." It was another 15 minutes before we got it. Don't lie to the customer. There seemed to be a big lack of communication between the waitstaff and the kitchen. It took us 45 minutes to get our food to go after we ordered it. It still was not crowded. I mentioned how long it took and the waitress told me "I will tell the owner." What good does that do me? This place is so close to our church, and a convenient place to stop, but we...
