We have been coming here for years & have always appreciated the food & service.

Thank you for allowing customers to now have their dog on the patio.

Today was our 2nd time to order via the table QR code outside & both times there are bugs to be worked out & confident you will do so or leave the hybrid concept behind. Customers could have 2 options: total Self service ordering at the counter & being given a fob for self pick up if sitting at tables inside or outside or full service outside & at bar. It would spare the confusion who is doing what & in what order.

Today we ordered from outside with QR code & were brought food without silverware & drinks. Please, as soon as order is received, deliver the silverware & cups with ice if soda, tap water if ordered, & maybe allow one to order the type of house coffee & soda via the app for full service. In the absence of that be sure drinks are is served immediately because well, it is HTX, very warm & humid. We chose outside after walking our dog.

When delivering the meal, be sure silverware are delivered if not done with drinks.

When ordering a side, never put it in the entree unless asked, it was ordered as a side. We had no idea one side of chicken sausage was in the egg white omelet & thus the other side of sausage was consumed by the one with the omelet, leaving the 2nd customer without their side.

I ordered the cinnamon roll French toast & asked for the icing on the side, the only modification & it was honored. I was expecting maple syrup since I had NOT checked the box for no syrup, it was not delivered.

When noting these things to the server it took so long to have things corrected, one of us went in & worked with the manager for errors to be addressed. In the meantime of course, the server delivered water & caffeinated plain coffee vs what was really desired & expected for self service so that the delivered coffee went untouched.

This process is inefficient & confusing & again, I am confident if given time can be corrected. Thank you.

Thank you for the years of wonderful food & service. We bring all of our out-of-town guests here & plan to continue to come but likely will choose inside service vs outside until this is corrected. Sitting outside with our dog is lovely many times of the year & great...

Walked in and the place looked clean and was bustling with people. As their usual, you walk up to the counter and order your food and drinks up front. Young man at register was very nice and took order. Wife loves their Chicken Tortilla soup and ordered a bowl of it. Was delish! They used to put 1 garlic slice for a cup and 2 for a bowl and they used to have cheese on it. She only got 1 and no cheese on it. My daughter ordered the grilled chicken sandwich with a sub of the same soup instead of fries. It was an upcharge which I didnt mind and was told upfront it would be a $1.50. I appreciate when they say it and not slip.it in assuming you know like other places do. My daughter said it was the best chicken sandwich she ever had. The spicy aioli was nice for me but she didnt expect the spice. I ordered the Waygu Chicken Fried Steak. It came with garlic mashed potaotes which were wonderful and while the breading was hand done to each order and was very good, the whole CFS gravy, meat and breading was ULTRA salty. TOO SALTY. I couldnt eat all of it AND the meat was a little tough. Strawberry margarita my wife ordered was good tasting and strong. My Stella Artois was ice cold. Overall great experience...They now bring the food to you rather than you having to get up and get it. They were not requiring masks which I liked but they kept their masks on and had sanitizer everywhere and was being very COVID conscience. The manager was the expeditor. He was a tall older gentleman( didnt get his name) but was VERY efficient as a manager, dropping off food and picking up plates and cheking on all the guests. I noticed my plate used to come with a garlic bread and asked the manager about it...He said they went to a bigger piece of meat and cut the bread out. It was still on the menu. While he offered to get me a piece I said my wife wanted one more as well and didnt want to seem like a mooch so I went to the front and paid for 2 piece. Didnt realize that each pice was a $1. Ouch. Oh well. Overall very good experience. Cant give 5 stars this time but will be back to try. Maybe score...

I've frequented Black Walnut (Cinco and other locations) many, many times over the years. I used to be able to dine from their menu unrestricted, however, ended up with food sensitivities/allergies some 10ish years ago. BW remains one of my go-to's (despite that I don't eat out often). Unfortunately, I'm left disappointed in my most recent experience. Fortunately, no reactions to anything I ate, that I can tell.

I often order some version of a lettuce wrapped burger with a side salad. Even though I visited pretty late in the evening and we were perhaps the only diners in the facility, my order was incorrect - despite the person taking the order reading everything back to me, including my modifications/omissions. And the order taker also being the person who delivered my order to my table, I feel that more attention could have been paid in making sure my order was correct.

I'd ordered : Ultimate Bacon Cheeseburger, no seasoning on patty beside sea salt & pepper, sub lettuce-wrap for bun, omit cheese & tomatoes, truffle bacon jam mustard on the side (which I ended up not eating, as didn't have an ingredient list to review); side salad (house), omit tomatoes w/ olive oil and lemon. The burger came without bacon or pickles, and the salad was delivered with tomatoes, and no lemon wedges. They also completely forgot to ask about or bring dressing for my boyfriend's salad. They were accommodating in fixing the order, however, ours was the only order being attended to at the time (if not the only, there may have been a couple patrons). I ended up using my own olive oil. Everything was tasty, in the end, and my dinner date enjoyed his salad (Black Walknut Salad). But this doesn't boost my confidence in being able to trust BW as a go-to for the occasional meal out.

The photo is what I initially received - not the order, once fixed. I was really hungry and got straight to eating as soon as my meal was complete - out on errands late being the entire reason I even...

Spacious, Beautiful and Awesome place. This concept is new to me as I’m only visiting Katy for the first time since 1989. I love Texas and miss it for all the reasons I really enjoyed Black Walnut. Upon entering it’s easy to see that a Texas sized “ Big-Hat-Have-Cattle “party could happen here any morning . 🎉🎉 Well appointed for a sophisticated breakfast without pretenses. It’s easy to order, pay, then choose a seat. I enjoyed a yummy Texas Pecan coffee while we waited. So good that I had a second cup after breakfast to linger and enjoy the ambiance. My husband’s a tea drinker and he was pleased too. The food came out fresh and expedited. The quality of the eggs were fresh. The nice choice of vegetables in my omelette were cooked perfectly. The bacon: yummy. The Pico de Gallo —authentic Texas. Woohoo!!!Since my diet requires me to stay off carbs and dairy I really enjoyed the heartiness/ healthy fresh. The menu has choices for my vegan and vegetarian friends too. Our server who brought the food was kind and attentive and always made sure to check up on how we were doing and the quality of the food. As soon as they saw we were finished they came to remove our plates. Since you pay up front, the lingering is your choice and not on a staff shortage. That’s totally 5 star nice. The cafe was busy with people, and the atmosphere happy. Definitely the perfect place to go if you’re looking for a healthy, refreshing breakfast/brunch. Alcohol choices look top shelf. This was an unplanned stop coming back from Moab, UT and it totally made our day enjoyable why we waited for repairs to proceed home to Sarasota. Love ❤️ you Texas, thank you for making us smile 🤩😍😍😍😍
