Let's talk Captain Ds on Fry & 529! We just came by with my family ordered a family meal and 2 chicken sandwhiches (combos) Food came out. They only brought us fish, chicken tenders, fries, and Mac and cheese. Cashier said they were making butterfly shrimp and will bring the rest out shortly (she goes to break right after) We sit down and eat our food and I tell my husband to please go check on the rest of the food. So he goes they bring out the butterfly shrimp & 1 sandwhich. We ask about the second sandwich and the managerrrr ELIOT! Sends another cashier to tell us that all day they've been having issues with people saying they didn't get their food and they have. So they're not gonna make us another one. Pretty much insinuating that they had given us the sandwhich and were trying to get another one for free. My husband starts looking around to see if they have cameras because they can't be foreal. I approached the register and ask for a refund and start talking to the manager who's in the kitchen currently cooking. This woman ignores me the whole time! I ask for her name, a refund. I mean something because what a wild thing to say over a freaking $6 sandwhich. At this point I'm pissed because how unprofessional of her to send someone to say that!! I ask for a refund yet again and nothing. Cashier who was the messenger says time has passed and they can't give me a refund. Then the manager speaks to her just her and tells her to tell me they're gonna make the sandwich. Luckily the girl who was our cashier walks in and I explain to her what's going on and sure enough she backs us up, we get our sandwhich remade and an extra to go for the inconvenience!! I'm literally just here to say that lady is rude as hell and how she has that job is beyond me. I was just 1 out of 3 people who had an issue in the 30 mins we were there. I mean come on!! If people are constantly complaining about missing things then the customers aren't the problem it's YOU! 😒
Also I am not the kind to write this book about the situation but it was pretty wild how she made the assumption.
Food was good though picky kids liked it. Just be sure to check your orders before you step out /...

Placed an online order today at 3pm at this location. The app said ready in about 15 mins. Arrived 20 mins later and went into get the order. 3 employees work behind the counter. Was asked to have a seat. One car in drive through and one couple in the dinning rm. Only one of the employees seemed to know what to do. Another customer came in and ordered at the counter and received his order while I still waited. After 40 mins I received my order. As far as I could tell, there wasn't a Manager on duty or in the building. The one employee who seemed to know what they were doing said he was only there s couple of weeks. I should have checked my order in the store, but I figured after 40 mins, it would be correct. Opened it at home and not really surprised... my order was completely wrong. Instead of the garlic 24 shrimp and fish with fries and okra and 12 garlic shrimp and fries and 4 pc chicken with fries and okra and dessert. I received two fish sandwiches and a order of fries. The sandwiches weren't even made well. So lettuce pieces on some slightly burned buns. A little dab of tarter. Highly disappointed in this order. Also, the chicken meal was canceled before I left the shop because... wait for it... NO CHICKEN!!! TOOK THE STAFF 50 MINS TO TELL ME THAT LITTLE FACT! Tried calling the store and the phone goes to a full voice mail. Most likely done with this location. Such crappy Customer Sevice. Can't recommend this location due to the lack of...

My Disappointing Experience at Captain D’s — October 6, 2025
Captain D's, 5902 N Fry Rd, Katy, TX 77449
I’ve loved Captain D’s for over 35 years. It’s been a favorite of mine since I was young, and I’ve never had a bad meal — until now. Locations have become harder to find, so when I spotted one about 20 miles away, I made the trip with high hopes. Unfortunately, what I experienced that day was nothing like the Captain D’s I’ve known and trusted.
We arrived right around lunchtime, expecting a fresh meal and a few other customers. Instead, the restaurant was completely empty — except for the employees — and the place had an unpleasant odor the moment we walked in.
Here’s what went wrong:
• The fish was undercooked, pink in the middle, and extremely thin — more like flautas than fillets — with a rancid smell that made it inedible. • The shrimp appeared blackened and greasy, likely fried in old oil. • The manager was nowhere to be found, sitting outside in a car instead of overseeing the restaurant or addressing the issues.
This isn’t the kind of complaint I want buried in a customer service inbox. I’m sharing this publicly because food safety and management accountability matter. I want to know what steps Captain D’s is taking to fix these problems and restore the quality that made so many of us loyal customers...
