My wife and I just moved to Houston, and we've tried this DQ a few times. By in large, food tastes okay-as expected for a DQ. Love their ice cream, obviously. However, on my last visit, I read off my order a few times to inquisitive looks. The drive through line was quite long, and I had already sat there a while waiting in line (no big deal-these things happen).
I only needed 3 items-it wasn't like I had a laundry list of items. I was asked to pull up to the window after initially giving my order (a large Reese Outrageous Blizzard, a medium Summy Berry Cheesecake Blizzard, and a kid-sized cup of vanilla). Upon getting to the window, I repeated my order, then when the lady at the window read it back, she had rang up a large regular Reese Blizzard. Upon correcting her, another lady came to the window to verify what I had just said (I had to specify again it was the Reese's Outrageous, not the regular Peanut Butter Cup). After getting through that, they read off the rest of my order as a strawberry Cheesecake Blizzard (supposed to be summer Berry) and a kid's vanilla cone (already specified cup because this was for my dog).
At the end of the day, I know these are specifics, but they shouldn't be selling so similar of products if they are difficult to differentiate between by the staff or the staff doesn't take the time to learn the menu. I would suggest better training by management to increase product awareness in the staff to maximize productivity and minimize wait time-perhaps this was why drive through line was line. And again, if the attendant was new, I understand. But the fact another employee stepped in to assist and also couldn't get the order correct does not do well for my trust in their capabilities.
I ended up driving off after the 3rd/4th time of having to repeat my order-probably means someone on staff got a free blizzard that night as they were in the process of making melt order, so at least some good did come out of this experience. Will be very wary in returning to this store-it is a shame because I love DQ (was my first job as a...
Read moreI have given this place a chance time after time. My banana splits have very light toppings, which doesn’t make sense to me considering that the banana and toppings make a banana split a banana split along with a cherry on top, which is available at an extra fee. I always ask the employees to please make sure there are enough toppings since I always get served almost no toppings. Again, my request never gets met. I went again tonight and my banana split didn’t meet my expectations. It was poorly made. I was so disappointed that I just couldn’t even bring myself to eat it. Dispose of it. Waste of my money and time. I will not be giving them my business. I have no problem driving a distance for good service and...
Read moreI used to like dairy queen, I dont know what happened but the food is not good anymore. I ordered the chicken basket and the chicken was very dry, and the fries were saggy, also my son ordered a sandwich and a non dairy dilli bar, well we grabbed our order and we advanced in the car as we were in the parking lot to eat our food, and we noticed that the dilly bar was missing, so we had to enter again to the drive truck, and luckily they gave it to us, but just imagine if we were left to eat at our house, we would of had to come back to pick up the dilly bar I think they have to pay attention at the moment of putting the...
