Used to love coming here when I lived around the area. Hadn't come back to this side of town in over 3 years so decided to go back in for crawfish during season to reminisce with the Mrs. Upon entering, something already felt off and we had the feeling that the restaurant had changed ownership (although the restaurant name remained the same) as front staff employees were unfamiliar faces. We ordered a dozen grilled oysters, 5 pounds of crawfish, and a few beers. When the crawfish came out, it came in a small bag and left us wondering "this is 5 lbs?" We have eaten at so many different crawfish establishments where we knew something wasn't right. But whatever, we let it alone. Although the restaurant was not busy (2 other tables while we were there), service seemed non existent. When we used to come there, we were regularly checked on to empty out the crawfish shells, to order more drinks, etc. Oh how the glory days had gone away. Anyhow, we were disappointed that one of once favorite spots has become what it has become. The next time we're on that side of town for errands, we'll reminisce at other restaurants we used to like going to and skipping this...
Read moreI ordered a pound of shrimp and crawfish with grilled oysters on the side. Now the taste was there and the size of the crawfish there, but the crawfish was TOO HARD to peel. I ate one and I told the waiter they were too hard and all he said was sorry and walked off. Upon paying I made them aware I left all the crawfish on the table. Its not like I didn't want to eat it I coukdne eat em. I was told that I'm the only one who has complained and thats how crawfish is suppose to be. I was raised on crawfish you not gone tell no lies to my face. The same guy then went to dicect the bowl of crawfish counting them one by one. Instead of him apologizing for selling me overcooked, re-warmed crawfish, I found myself doing the apologizing.I also prefer zummo sausages but whatever. Yes i did recieve my refund. Maybe they had a bad day but it's all about how you handle things. The guy made me feel bad for saying something. He told me thats how all crawfish is and he can't control the...
Read moreIf youâre looking for a true seafood hole in the wall, then youâve found the right place. My wife and I drive 30 minutes once a week for their Viet-style crawfish and fried catfish/wings. Donât expect super fancy decor or lush menu. This is a family run business that found a way to get everhthjng right. The flavor is top notch, the service (all family members are the staff) is top notch & the portions sizes will not disappoint.
Iâm not sure how or why they have negative reviews, but I can promise you that weâve never had a problem. As of today youâll be pressed to find restaurants that carry love crawfish right now due to the volatile season weâve had. However, they do have frozen crawfish and itâll have you second guessing if theyâre live or frozen. Donât think about it, try them out. And please, no tik toks. Some places are meant to remain has hidden gems with...
