Bars and pubs are not too difficult to find, but sometimes, you might want something extra: a bar that offers more than just a stopping place for food, drinks, and sports viewing. If you like the idea of a bar that offers a little more elbow room and more than the usual features, then you might consider Einstein’s Pub, a mainstay of the Katy nightlife scene.
Einstein’s Pub is larger than the average pub, with space inside to hold more than 100 people. You don’t realize how large it truly is until you walk inside. This pub has a full bar, a good number of beers on tap, and good, basic bar food munchies like burgers, chicken strip, tacos, cheese sticks, and other options. The food and drink are all reasonably priced with even better drink deals during happy hour, making this a good choice when funds are limited.
You can watch sports at Einstein’s Pub, but the real attraction at this pub is its games. You can shoot pool, play darts, partake in numerous electronic games, and play pinball. Pinball is probably the standout, with about fifteen or so different machines. This might be the largest pinball selection in the entire Katy area.
Einstein’s Pub has special deals and is known for its steak night, pint night, and very good happy hour deals. Because it is located in a strip mall, there is no issue with parking, as there is abundant space. One restriction that you need to keep in mind is that Einstein’s Pub is limited only to those age 21 and up. This is an establishment for adults only, and unless I’m mistaken, I believe this rule holds true during all hours of operation.
One of Einstein’s Pub’s other claims to fame is that it is one of the very few establishments that once allowed indoor smoking. As far as I know, they have eliminated or plan to eliminate indoor smoking, but I noticed that the smell of smoke still lingers in the air. If you want to smoke, you should step outside. They have outdoor seating, so it should be fine.
Pubs are known for their drinks, televised sports, and usually food. But Einstein’s Pub offers more. It’s one of the best places in Katy for games, and a great choice if you love playing several rounds of pinball on different machines. It’s a nice part of the Katy nightlife scene, and a place...
Read moreI have been coming for a long time. I come because all my friends come, cheap drinks and it is very familiar. However, there needs to be some updates. One, remove the lattice from the windows (tacky). Two, lacquer the tables so the cracks aren't open. This will keep ash, dirts and bacteria from getting in there (it already is). Three, take down the ceiling tile and let the bare ceiling show. That will spread the smokey, greasy smell around some. I know a lot of women who don't or hate coming because of that reason alone. Have a ladies night and market certain girlie drinks. We all know for every 1 girl you bring in a bar in bring 3 guys, and they are the one's buying most the drinks and food. These are cheap easy fixes. Then put in a better ventilation system. Have some events. BBQ events on July 4th. Crawfish/beads on Fat Tuesday. Fajita's and Chiuhaha race on Cinco de Mayo. Veterans specials on Veterans day. Back to School party and market to teachers. Get creative. Have more of the drink girls for Patron, Capt Morgan, etc come and give samples. Have UFC fights, boxing matches, etc. Start a newsletter. Try to get people to give you their email on their receipt. Keep them in the loop of things coming up. Promote yourself to get people to come for birthday, anniversary, corporate events. Have tournaments. Pool, karaoke, darts, cornhole, poker night, etc. Rent the space next to you. It's small. Have it for private parties or RSVP. Market heavily on Facebook, Pinterest, Apple maps, Google maps, Yahoo calendar, Twitter, Youtube. Have a mixology contest. Promote at local events (Rice Harvest, Fort Bend County Fair, Katy Crawfish Festival, etc). If you just do the first things I mentioned it would make a huge difference. You may also have to advertise TV, radio, magazines, newspapers, online, put advertisement in car windshield wipers at competitors parking lot. Start having field trips to Astros or Texans game or Rockets games, river trip to New Braunfels (you can even sell the alcohol to there, up there and back), etc. Have foxy boxing nights, get creative. Do some research online and see what your...
Read moreMy friend and I walked into Einstein's the other evening and it was crowded...we had held the door for a couple of women and they walked in before us. Once inside they seemed to be meeting people. We were no longer in the "entrance" of the bar. Being thats its so busy, my buddy and are looking for a place to sit...preferably at the bar. We spot two seats and are about to head over to sit down. Suddenly a staff member of the bar yells..."I KNOW YOU SEE ME CHECKING ID's!" (Which we did not). "You're with these ladies aren't you!?" We said no we didn't see you randomly checking ID's. He wasn't sitting at the entrance, he was just sitting a table inside the bar. He continued berating us about it being Saturday and the Rodeo is going on blah blah blah. He could easily and civily said, "hey gentleman, I need to see your ID's before you sit down." but he went the douchbag route. Needless to say, it was busy and being that's how we were addressed as we were entering their place to patronize them, we walked out. We went elsewhere and gave our business to someone who greeted us politely and professionally. Einstein's...if that's the "door" guy you choose to represent your bar as people are entering, no class and unprofessional, I can only imagine the type of crowd your bar is going to...
