YOU CAN NEVER GO WRONG WITH THIS AMAZING RESTAURANT! I had the Galeana Plate which is Queso Panela en salsa with two eggs and frijoles de olla on the side. momma bear had antojitos plate, it has chicharrón en salsa roja, frijoles fritos, two eggs and nopales. Finally baby jenaiah had taco de barbacoa with refried beans on the side. The coffee is strong and very hot which is really good, Lemonade is fresh, tea is good and chocolate milk is made to perfection. We loved it so much that our plates were left cleaned! Fernando’s restaurant has the best handmade flour and corn tortillas! Did I mention the staff is very attentive and the ambiance is causal! 10/10 please visit them soon!

Fernando's is located off the expressway in Pharr just past Cage. I went there for breakfast and really enjoyed it. The food was prepared perfectly, even the potatoes were done right, which is not aways the case at breakfast eateries. I had the Mexicana Omelette, loved it, the refried beans that came with it were really good, as well as, the homemade flour tortillas. The two different house salsa that are served were equally as good. I really have to rave about the great service, the servers really take care of you here, they team up to keep the coffee cups filled and your needs met. I recommend this place with enthusiasm. I can't wait to go back and try lunch.

D-Licious! I was starving and wanted something quick and filling. Holy cow I'm glad I came. We got seated right away and the server came soon after. We noticed a sign that mentioned something about fresh food and please excuse the wait. First of all, of course. If food is made to order its only natural that its going to take a minute. Especially with a restaurant full of people. However, the service was not only friendly and precise, but speedy as well. Before I realized out we were served and out the door. My only sad face was that papitas were not a part of my entree, but the homemade tortillas absolutely made up for it. Yum! Thank you for that by the way.

DO NOT GO HERE!! STAY AWAY!! Had one decent experience out of three. I have never written a bad review. The owner or manager is CHEAP. Makes me nervous as to what they will do to save money. Grosses me out. First visit OK. Nothing special and NOT CHEAP!! Then, after surgery I could not eat certain things. They said no substitutions period even though the section I ordered from had no such restrictions. Other sections of the menu did say "no substitutions." My mom ordered breakfast. It was lunch time. Charged extra for breakfast then no coffee because it ran out and no one else wanted some. She is 84 and ate her taco with out coffee. NO COFFEE WITH BREAKFAST? Coffee and Tea cheapest cost out of any item for restaurants b costs cents per glass/cup. Went again... We were we were 5 people. They said they would not push two tables together. Wait. What? We just did it any way. Service was slow. Meat on my plate TASTED OLD. I am diabetic. I ordered water with extra lime. They tried to slip in a $2.95 charge for a limonada because I used too many limes. They didn't say anything until we confronted them. Their demonstrated cheapness scares me. Their service is lacking. They charge extra for breakfast. They won't make you coffee if it runs out. It's not cheap. It's nothing special and hard to get in and out of. With so many choices GO...

im sitting here right now. ive always loved this place for their delicious breakfast plates. well this time i came for lunch. Big Mistake. i ordered the Veracruz Plate which comes with chile relleno with picadillo, cheese enchilada, a hand shell beef taco and a chalupa for 10.95. my mom ordered a chile relleno eith picadillo plate for 8.95. Halfway through im not enjoying my main course. i can hardly taste the chile and just taste the breading. i mention it to my mom and she poonts out thats its not even a chile relleno. its a breaded sloppy chile and they just add picadillo and cheese on top of that. Its not even relleno. una mexicano o mexicana sabe de lo que digo. the enchilada is just flat tortilla under a lot of cheese.

i brought it up to waitress and she says i needed to have left all the chile so that they could consider my complaint. but in my defense i was trying to enjoy it and give them a chance. but i left more than half after i found out it was not even relleno.

we ended up paying $27. not a bad price, but its not great either if you didnt enjoy your plate. I recommend Shrimp Haus in Mcallen for a delicious chile relleno plate for $10.

Never again. Not recommendinf Fernandos. maybe only...

Don't eat here. I have been coming here with my customers for meetings for some time and today was bad. We went in to see if we could hold a meeting with some people. The front section was full but the back section was empty and had like 8 tables with no one on them. I asked the lady can we sit on one of those tables and to my surprise she said no. I was like the register is being used in that section and there is a table next to the register empty, but she still said no. I said "can I talk to a manager" and the girl said no. I said "I want to talk to the manager so I can explain to her the situation and the girl felt disturbed like not wanting to bother her. After I insisted she finally called her out. She was worse than the waiter. She said she is not going to open that section for me. I would have to wait for some one to leave a table. I was so surprised to get such an answear. I just left and will never go back. All my customers and freinds will hear my story and will recommend they go some where else. We ended up at Ponchos down the street and was delicious with fresh tortillas hand made in front of you. This is why these mom and pop restaurants fail. They just have bad customer service and it's...
