JLB Eatery — Restaurant in Texas

Im glad this place doesn't... On my recent visit [01/05/24], I was reminded why I highly recommend this place. The location isn't important as it's easy to miss if you're not actively looking for it. The service was decent, just as I expected, but let's focus on the food.

I always order the "AVOCADO BURGER" whenever I visit, but this time I decided to try the FRIED CHICKEN SANDWICH while my friend went for the DOUBLE CHEESEBURGER. In the interest of reviewing both, we split the sandwiches. I let my friend take the first bite so I could see her reaction, and she was so impressed that she couldn't help but dance in her seat. The standout feature of this restaurant is that they actually season their meat, which may seem obvious, but it sets them apart from the rest.

The chicken sandwich was also delicious, but I felt there was not enough chicken compared to the amount of fried skin. Despite that, I will be back again and again as I work nearby. I just wish there were more locations in the northern part of Houston.

Im also glad that management improved the scent of JLB, now I can 100% recommend it.

This was my first time trying food from JLB and let me tell you that it was one of the best experiences I’ve had! The staff was super friendly and the whole establishment was clean and spotless. The dining set up was spaced and socially distanced enough for everyone to enjoy their meals and remain at a safe distance from one another. We tried the JLB burger for the first time and let me tell you that it did not disappoint. The burger is massive and the meat is seasoned and cooked to perfection. The buffalo chicken wrap also really good! The chicken was really coated in Buffalo sauce and the lettuce was nice and crisp and the size was definitely worth the price. The shrimp were golden and crisp and the dipping sauce was on another level. The steak fries were nice and golden and had so much steak lettuce and cheese! They were so filling and the ingredients blended so well together. The fried Oreos were my favorite! The batter was light and crispy and the center was super soft. Everything was made fresh and you could tell that the employees really take an effort in providing quality service! 10 out of 10 would recommend this place if you haven’t tried it! First visit to this location, been to the Tomball location before a few years ago. Ordered: kids cheeseburger (just the burger), 2 piece fish plate, and 2 porkchop combo. $40. Why the 2 stars? Well, the guy taking our order/working the counter acted like he couldn't be bothered to help us. Acted very impatient while we looked over the menu (we were the only ones inside so its not like we were holding up a line). Food came out quick, so that's a plus. Fish tastes good, but the actual fish filet was very thin compared to the batter. Same with the fried porkchop, it was pounded out super thin. VERY small serving of fries on both plates and the 'salad' was a large condiment cup with lettuce shreds, 2 cucumber pieces and a wedge of tomato. No dressing offered or seen for self service. Biggest negative for me tonight: when we were packing up what we didn't feel like finishing in the restaurant, someone from the kitchen walked out of the bathroom with her plastic gloves on and walked BACK INTO THE KITCHEN. Who knows if they got changed when she went back to the kitchen but wearing them out of the bathroom indicates she did NOT wash her hands. Makes me sick to my stomach...
