First time eating here, and the first thing we're served is chips and salsa with a long hair that wrapped around almost all the chips. Gross! The server brought us a new batch of chips. but made no mention of any kind of compensation for almost feeding us a hair.
The salsas and the queso here have funky flavor to them, though, so I almost didn't even want the chips at all anymore.
This is the only Mexican restaurant I've ever been to that serves you a burrito with nothing else on the plate. No side of beans and rice or salad or anything like that. And they charge the price of a dinner plate for it. Granted the burritos they serve are bigger than most...
Too bad like I said the queso tastes funky. Like the kind of funky that has me worried if it's even safe to consume. Still ate it because I was hungry, pressed for time and didn't want to waste money.
Three stars because I wouldn't say this place is awful, but I don't plan to come back after this unpleasant experience. Why would I with so many other options? This place is a bit too expensive (and overrated) for one of these hole-in-the-wall type Mexican...
Read moreThis used to be my go to Mexican spot in the neighborhood. The quality has steadily gone downhill. The only reason they’re getting 2 stars is because the service is good.
I stopped in today, after not going for over a year. I ordered beef fajitas for one and a small chili con queso.
The queso had a burnt flavor to it. It was very thick and had a weird texture. I stirred it and saw 1 piece of on onion, no chilis in the queso.
The fajitas came out in record time. I’m talking 2-3 minutes. Seriously. The meat was well done, and the onions weren’t cooked. They threw a raw tomato slice on top for good measure. The meat did have a good flavor, but it was dry.
As fast as the order came out, and considering the meat was well done and onions were raw leads me to the conclusion that they keep the cooked meat on hand instead of cooking to order. And how do the onions not get cooked at all during the cooking of the meat? Sigh 😔.
I think this was my last visit. I hope they get it together. There aren’t enough locally owned businesses...
Read moreWe visited Casa Imperial on Sunday June 29th for our granddaughters 21st birthday. It was a preplanned surprise dinner party for her, we had a total of 14 guests. If I could give this restaurant and staff a rating of "100" I would. From the minute our guests started arriving, everyone felt welcomed and honored. One staff member which I believe her name was Megii. She was excellent, took all 14 of our orders, everything came out excellent, everyone got their right order, and was very happy with their food. The food came out in record time, and hot, everything tasted excellent. They kept our drinks refilled without us having to ask for refills, actually we never had to request anything. Chips were readily replenished. They allowed us to bring in our own birthday cake and cupcakes and bent over backwards to make sure that this was a special occasion. Wow - we will definitely be back as this is our favorite Mexican Restaurant now. Please try it if you haven't, it is well worth the visit. Love it Love...
