Updated review March 24, 2024 All right friends, I just found out yesterday Mariachis Taco Truck is no longer at area 51. Here is where they are now: 12135 Potranco Rd, San Antonio, TX 78245
Which is just a few hundred feet from Area 51. Its at the food mart where U-haul parks its trucks.
I requested Mariachis staff permission to update their address and it will be updated on Google maps soon. Blessings to everyone! --â---------------------' Mariachis Tacos did it again!!! (2023 review) It was almost closing time on Monday night at 11:20 pm, the cook managed to put together our order with birria meat (which we prefer), even with the possibility the meat would not be enough, he did it!! đ Thanks for taking very good care of your customers and going the extra mile. This is what makes a difference with your food truck and everyone else's. My Torta Supreme was extra crispy, and all the tacos were on point. One suggestion is that I would like to taste a mild version of your hot sauces. I bet they are delicious, but too hot đ„ at least for my stomach đ. If not possible, it's understandable since this is Mexican food from Jalisco to the USA. To all other customers, heads up if you like lots of lime on your tacos, bring extra slices from home. What you see is what you get. Thanks, Mariachi's for for your excellent đ food and customer service. Please keep up the good work!!!! Five stars for me this time. If I could do more, I would gladly do it.
Old review.
This is our second time eating from this food truck. My first impression is that the cooks put lots of love and pride when they make food. The first time I ate tacos, that tasted amazing. I was impressed and curious, so I went to the truck to order something else. I asked the cook what his suggestions were so I could try it out? he said, "Get the Supreme Torta, it has a good flavour." So I did, and oh my, oh my..... he was right!!! I loved it so much that I bought another one! So I will recommend the same torta hands down. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The cooks take your order some times, and I was able to ask if he can make my bread extra crispy and he did. So thanks for that extra detail. Thanks to the whole staff you rock! 10 STARS for me... Keep up the good work! In addition please try the PAPA CAMPECHANA you...
Read moreI was optimistic and really looking forward to coming here. However, I saw one of the most disgusting things I've ever seen and decided to leave instead of eating. We waited for over 30 minutes to even get a drink with no one else in the restaurant as we were waiting. A few tables came in and finally, we were able to flag down one of the group of young ladies That was chatting behind the counter instead of handling the tables, all of that aside as we were waiting, We witnessed a young lady bringing out a to go order. And I saw the woman open the bag. I saw her open the tacos. She realized they gave her the wrong order. And the waitress picked up the bag took it to the counter. Went to the back. Got the correct order for the young lady. And then took the opened tacos. And gave them to the correct person. After they had been opened and touched by someone else. I would never, ever recommend this place to anyone because if they can do that in front of your face. What do you think they're doing when they think you can't see revolting. And then on top of everything else, when we let them know why we were leaving and our concerns mind you. We had not received any food. They attempted to charge us for food We had not even received even though we had been there over an hour.
*UPDATE *
Please READ response to review. If the woman had NOT opened her WRAPPED tacos... how did she know they were wrong? Don't make things worse by lying. And NO one yelled. I walked up to the register to pay for the drink and you guys tried to charge food we hadn't even gotten yet. And I'm sorry. You WERE fully staffed with 3 tables counting ours and the group of young ladies should be attending tables instead of getting attitudes for the interruption of their conversation. You screwed up its that simple. Stop blaming other people for your faults and mistakes. Own it. Learn from it. Put the blame where it...
Read moreSo I decided to give this place a try last night. As I walked in there was maybe 3 waitresses standing at a counter on the far side of the restaurant near the kitchen and there was another counter near the door where I assume takeout orders are taken(there was no greeter there at the time). So I stood in front as to not seem rude or pushy. I ended up standing there for about 10 minutes as the waitresses giggled and talked amongst themselves occasionally looking but not greeting me or waving me over to place an order. Eventually one of them came to the counter and asked if I was placing to-go order and took my order. I had the birria tacos. When I got home(a short 4 minute drive from the restaurant) and I was so disappointed. This is the worse birria Iâve had in the city of San Antonio. It lacked flavor and the shells were tough to bite into. Even after chewing I could still hard pieces when swallowing. It almost felt like razors going down my throat. This place is a definite âNOâ for me. The atmosphere was your typical Mexican decor however it was dimly lit but seemed like it was clean. I wish I had read the reviews before I went. I wouldnât go back here even if they were...
