Ninja Japanese Cuisine — Restaurant in Texas

This restaurant seems to have a fusion vibe. I've had Japanese garlic fried rice, but have not seen beef fried rice on a Japanese menu. The decor was nice.

It's not the best Japanese food I've had, but it's quite decent. The sushi is fresh and of large portions. The ratio of fish to rice is very generous.

I agree with another review that sauces are used too liberally for Japanese food but that's how people in the area like it. For me, my sushi was sauced so much that I couldn't dip pieces in soy sauce & wasabi without feeling it was now too salty.

The complimentary house-made potato chips were also too salted for my taste, but that's probably also a local preference. The calamari and sealeg salad was enough for four people to share. The dressing on the salad could have been lighter. My Tokyo roll was good. Hubby's bento box had two big pieces of salmon. The tempura crust on pieces could be lighter, not so thick.

It was nice to be acknowledged with the standard Japanese greeting and to hear a good-bye when we left. Our server was friendly and quick to respond to requests.

There was one male server who was very loudly joking with customers when others quietly and efficiently performed their duties. He fit more into the noisier atmosphere of a Chinese restaurant. (We came back recently from a trip and ate Japanese food five out of ten days.)

Whenever we are in this area, we make it a point to stop by for sushi. The sushi rolls are generously sized and reasonably priced considering the ample amount of food provided. Today, I discovered that they offer lunch specials on Saturdays, which was a pleasant surprise. I ordered a bento box off of the lunch menu. You could choose three different items to be included in addition to soup, salad, and rice. It was plentiful to say the least, I wasn’t able to finish it!

Our server was exceptionally friendly and went above and beyond to ensure our needs were met. Notably, my niece was wearing a birthday button in anticipation of her upcoming celebration, and the server kindly sent over a complimentary ice cream with fried bananas.
