My wife and I dropped by this small diner on Father's day weekend. We walked in and were promptly greeted then seated. Our waitress was Yanette. She was friendly and very knowledgeable of the menu. I ordered an omelet with hash brown and pancakes. My wife had eggs benedict with hash. My omelet was cheese and meaty. My wife enjoyed her dish as well. The Atmosphere:The restaurant had a nice local vibe with the late 80's mix playing in the background. The place small but clean with plenty of seating. Funny : A couple walked in yelling "do I have to make coffee around here." A waitress from the bar told him to" shut up and sit down." All laughs & smiles from all who entered and had a laid back experience. Waitress even sat next to regulars as they shared day to day life experiences. Just a comfortable place to be and good customer service. Reminds me of cheers TV show: "Sometimes you wanna go Where everybody knows your name And they're always glad you came" We enjoyed it all and we will definitely be back!

Surprise today from my husband, lunch from The Colony Cafe, 2 pork chops with gravy, 2 veggies, a roll and salad. The pork chops are a dish they are trying, I say it's perfect. Meat is generous, tasty and tender; mushroom gravy is thick and delicious, please keep it on the menu. All their veggies are perfectly cooked and seasoned slightly to bring out the flavor of the vegetable, try their fried okra, it's great. The other picture is another surprise, apple pancakes. I don't usually care for pancakes, until now. They are thick and cooked ALL the way through, no half-cooked dough. The apple induced syrup and pecans sprinkled on top changed my mind about pancakes, as long as they come from The Colony Cafe. You can tell by my photos they are generous with the servings. What is it they do to make everything so delicious?

Very Disappointed and dissatisfied with my order and customer service experience. Ordered a Club Sandwich for $10 and basically received a blt club of which I did not order. Yes I asked for no ham but as u see on their posted pic of a true club even if I said no ham I’d still have a sufficient amount of meat to bread ratio. I called the restaurant upon reviewing my sandwich and she acted as if I’m asking for something indignant of my sandwich and kept repeating that I asked for no ham so I asked her to compare their shown pic and still didn’t acknowledge nor correct the order. And I purchased 2 of these btw. I just can’t get any good food here. Definitely would not recommend

Through my life traveling around Texas, every small town worth it's salt was lucky enough to have a local eatery which was the heart of the town. The Colony Cafe is such a place. A happy face greets you when you enter the door. A stranger never walks in the door. If you know anyone in the neighborhood, you are likely to see them from time to time, Including the daily regulars. The food is great, especially the breakfasts. The service is excellent. A friendly place always glad to see you. Good food cooked well and served with a smile. I have been back to The Colony Cafe many times since the first visit. The owners and the staff are amazingly friendly and efficient. I'm a breakfast person, any time of day. I have also enjoyed their cheeseburger and chicken fried steak lunch, which is my favorite lunch. Theirs is excellent by the way. The steak is well made and large. The gravy is tasty. The sides are all good and you can have different options each time you eat. I don't think anyone would be disappointed. Today is my first visit to The Colony Cafe, but it will definitely not be my last...particularly since it is 3 minutes from my house. I'm 74 and I have been eating the same breakfast wherever I can get it. It's kind of my test whether a place qualifies as a keeper in my book. When I find a keeper, I do my best to frequent them and pass along their merits to others. The Colony Cafe is a keeper on several levels. First the food is exceptional. Two eggs over medium, bacon crisp, hash browns and biscuits and gravy is a thorough breakfast cooks test. Over medium requires eggs cooked with whites done (no raw or runny white) with yolk still bright and runny not overcooked, crisp bacon is an art of it's own as are good biscuits. Hash browns can be cooked many ways but done, browned on both sides and not burned is what is expected. And finally, the gravy should be creamy, smooth and seasoned, both good on it's own and improving whatever it is added to. The cook who meets all these requirements consistently can probably handle anything else on the menu with ease. Note to foodies, this order allows you to mitigate the damage if the cook misses the mark by letting you mix the bacon and hashbrowns to cover for the under or overcooked elements with the possible exception of extremely undercooked eggs. I plan to return to The Colony Cafe to try their other breakfast and non-breakfast combinations. If nothing else were right their exceptional service would buy a lot of forgiveness but in this case it only added to the joy of a good meal...

tldr: This place is an absolute treasure. Classic southern food, attentive and friendly service, homey atmosphere. Frankly, I don't see a reason NOT to dine here. (Plus, great prices!)

Stumbled upon it with my husband while our car was getting looked at next door. They recommended this place to us with enthusiasm. Felt a little bad that we overstayed our welcome with our car getting looked at, but management was very patient with us (not expected, but seriously appreciated). We were impressed by the menu, easy to navigate, it wasn't too overwhelming but it was thorough enough to have something for everyone. We were super tempted to try the breakfast menu, but the time of day and our appetites lead us to the lunch menu. Needless to say, we will be coming back to try some of the crepes!!

We were served by Rodrigo, who was knowledgable, caring, and friendly. We weren't ready to order right away, but by the time we were ready he noticed immediately and took our order. He was extremely competent with the menu and made sure to double check on small things (i.e. the soup of the day) before potentially misleading us. Personally, the service always makes a huge difference to me and this exceeded my expectations.

Lastly, and most importantly, the food was wonderful! I got the grilled chicken sandwich with a side salad. They were able to get me some honey mustard dressing for my salad upon request. The sandwich was on some well-buttered toast and the chicken was well cooked. My husband got the buffalo chicken sandwich with a side of broccoli soup. He was very impressed with the buffalo chicken sandwich (which I think says a lot, since that's one of his go-to items anywhere).

The whole experience reminded me of one of this diner I used to visit with my dad as a kid! If you like southern style food, even if it's just a simple sandwich, this is definitely the...

From the moment we stepped into The Colony Cafe for breakfast, we were treated like lifelong customers. The staff were incredibly welcoming, creating an environment that truly felt like a cozy, family diner. Despite this being our first visit, we experienced a sense of familiarity, thanks to the warm and friendly vibes from everyone present.

One of the highlights of our visit was the exceptional quality of the food. Everything we ordered came out promptly and was delicious. Whether it was the pancakes that the kids devoured with glee, or the heartwarming coffee that my wife and I savored, every bite was a testament to the thoughtful preparation behind each dish.

Another delightful aspect of our visit was the affordability of our meal. In an era where dining out can often burn a hole in your pocket, it was refreshing to find a place that serves great food at such reasonable prices. It certainly added to the overall positive experience we had.

Overall, The Colony Cafe offered us more than just a breakfast; it provided a heartwarming dining experience that we all greatly appreciated. We left with our stomachs full, our spirits high, and a strong desire to return soon. Anyone looking for a friendly and affordable dining experience would be well-advised to pay The Colony...
