Restaurant Beware!!! My husband and I wanted to get a little lunch out on Sunday. So we looked for a Local West African 🌍 Restaurant near by. So my husband looked up a few African 🌍 Restaurant around the The Colony, TX area. We saw that "Zag Afro-Fusion Cuisine" was the nearest 😩 West African Restaurant. So we drove over to the restaurant expecting to enjoy ourselves. When we walked in the Restaurant door there was no one to meet or greet us. No Hospitality at all 🗯️. We stood for a few minutes before anyone came out to meet us. Then a Lady came from the back where they prepare the food 🍲🥫. She had a very unwelcoming look on her face 👀 and even looked like we had offended her in some way. Just like a Saddest or a very Negative type Attitude. Both my husband and I noticed this when she entered the room. She looked like a person that had not seen happiness in her lifetime. I said to my husband look at how this lady looked at us. She never greeted us nor did she say Welcome to Our Restaurant. Readers continue to read my Review to the End. She said can I take your order? She gave us Menu's then tried to seat us at a Dirty Table. The seats were very filthy. I noticed that we were their one and only Customers. The Restaurant was Completely Empty 🙄. I'm already 😒 starting to see why. But I chose our seating at the Restaurant instead of accepting where she wanted to seat us. She asked us if we were going to Dine-In and we said yes. She went to the back where they prepare the food and she came back with a Big Pitcher of Water 💦💦 🤣 that I'm sure probably came out of the water hydrant. She couldn't do like some other African Restaurants that give their Customers Bottle Water with a Sealed Top. All of the time that we were at this restaurant not even one person walked in. Buyer's 🚭🚫 Beware not a one. 🙄😒 Once she brought the food out to us she went straight back to the back again. So we started eating the food. I started to feel like someone was watching me. I looked up and looked to the back of the restaurant through the glass where her and her cooking staff were watching us from the back of the restaurant. 🙄 All of them were standing together it was such a weird and uncomfortable 🥵 experience. I said to my husband. "Babe" this Lady and her Cooking Staff were watching us through the Glass Window of the Cooking area. Even the Chief was standing there. This started to freak me out. I felt some kind of way. My husband told me to just ignore them and eat my food. I was half eating my food and I couldn't just ignore them. The Lady stayed in the back of the restaurant most of the time we were there. When she came back in she had that weird look upon her face. Didn't say anything to us just went and put something behind the bar then went back to the back of the restaurant again. I was looking down then I looked up again they were gathered together talking and watching us. I told my husband I believe that they did something to our food. A few minutes later the Lady walked out and asked us. How is the food? Then she actually said your not going to drink the Water 💦💦. I told her. No, We don't want the water. Then she walked away. I ended up seeing one other lady walking past the back door where they prepared the food. I told my husband I don't feel comfortable here. He said him either. He said we can never come back to this restaurant again. It was my first time there. I believe my husband visited the restaurant on one other occasion. He said that he felt some kind of way about the Lady that served the food she has a very strange attitude and weird personality. She's not your normal everyday kind of person. 🚭🚫 She ended up walking out with the Restaurant Bill on a Little Black Clip Board with Two Soft Peppermint 🍬 Candies and like Five Tooth Picks. Yesterday evening after leaving the restaurant later my husband started feeling 🤢🤢🤢. Not feeling well at all. He has been vomiting 🤮🤢🤮 over and over again. Complaining about his stomach and a Bad Headache. We will never go to this restaurant again. Bad...

I called to place an order today. I went further to inquire about the price and total she mentioned she was no where close by to verifying that information, but off the back of her head she was able to tell me the price of a side of plantain. I had to ask if she would like to reiterate what I ordered for confirmation, I sensed attitude just for making that request, (typical of an African once they sense you are younger in age). The time frame given for pickup was an hr. My sibling arrived to pick it up the total was approximately $80 she requested an itemized receipt, she then brought to her notice the difference in price online and the present receipt. Easy resolution she could have apologized and noted that it will be fixed through an update of the online menu and prices but no, it escalated to a rebuttal, while I over the phone listening and voicing my opinion to my sibling since I made the order, was told that I made condescending remarks over the phone to the owner (which I did not, but who cares, we all want to exonerate ourselves). We still payed for the food being hungry and considerate. Regardless of the distance already made. Customer service:0 Work Ethic:0 I personally don’t settle with the mentality that the customer is always right, but to run a business when you are wrong you accept it, apologize go about your day and make amends . I meant to put Zero or negative star but one is the least I could go. Take your business elsewhere they compromise on quality and treat you like trash if you express how you feel. I ordered a lot off their menu and a tray of fried rice came out really salty it could send an hypertensive patient to the ER. They also took out the usual shrimp and liver and made my fried rice plain and SALTY. I took the tray back and she could see I barely ate out of it and she told me to come back few days later for a replacement. Guess what!!! She gave me a bowl of fried rice as replacement! I took a tray back, she made me drive all the way back (twice) for a little bowl! She confirmed to me someone in the team who was heavily salt handed ruined the meal but they couldn't replace the order? Their meal is a hit or miss if you ask me. My first order wasn't bad but the repeat order was like they got familiar and decided to compromise on quality. When I went for the replacement she kept me waiting and standing for over 10mins, barely acknowledged my presence and the other client had to ask her if she saw me(I was right in front of her) then she told her not to mind that she sees me. Few minutes later she went in to bring the little bowl of cold fried rice( which I nicely declined ofcourse) and said thank you for coming all the way next time we should send a delivery man to you! No! next time they would be no...

I was excited to try authentic African cuisine at Zag, and the food did not disappoint. The restaurant is conveniently located with ample parking. When we arrived, only one other table was occupied, so we were seated immediately. The host was friendly and helpful in explaining the menu, though she noted the prices listed were outdated. We ordered the Asun, which was fantastic but very spicy—beware if you’re sensitive to heat! The jerk chicken with jollof rice was another highlight; the chicken was perfectly seasoned and so tender it fell off the bone. The food was truly delicious. However, I gave Zag three stars due to a few issues. The restaurant’s cleanliness needs improvement—our cutlery wasn’t properly washed and had to be replaced. There were also too few paper napkins provided. Pricing: It’s on the expensive side, with one appetizer and one entree costing just over $50. Overall, while the food was outstanding, the high prices and cleanliness issues detracted from the experience.

Ese ooo for bringing a Nigerian Restaurant near the Frisco area! We have been traveling FAR to get some when we want a break from cooking at home. We’ve bought the Egusi twice now with Goat meat n pounded yam and might I say...it is Exquisite! Seriously jor! So sweet jare! Ah! There was a bit much oil, both times, but it can be poured away. If you are in the area and are interested in Nigerian Cuisine,...I encourage you to try this place out! You won’t be disappointed o.
