My husband and I used to frequent the former location in Carrollton and were excited that they were further north. The food and drinks were great, although service wasn’t that great or inviting. I used to work in the food industry, so I try to give grace, but it is annoying. Also, we missed the vibe of the original place. The music was not the R&B and hip-hop they used to play. It included hits across many genres. There were no games and it felt like the life was gone. The “Express” at the end of the name is definitely giving.
I spoke with a woman who I believe is part owner (apologies if I’ve misstated her title, I may have heard her incorrectly), and she explained that they were having trouble with patrons displaying poor behavior, breaking furniture and such, at the former location, so they made changes. I understand her frustration and I hate that others ruined it. But I wish there was a happy medium on the changes. Places with a primarily R&B/hip-hop vibe are so hard to find up north. For now, I’ll likely stick to supporting by ordering my food to-go.

Read moreWas unable to order. Showed up at the drive through window at about 7:00PM on Saturday. Wife and I had never been before so it took a few moments to look at the menu. Nobody answered the order window. After a few more moments, I said "hello?", No answer. The menu turned off and restarted (the menu seems to be a video on a loop). Still no answer. I pulled up thinking something was wrong with the intercom, no worries, not sure when they opened but having some technical difficulties is not unheard of. I pulled up behind an SUV that was at the window. After a few moments they received their food and drinks and drove off. I pulled up and was either going to order at the window or asking them If I should pull back around. Two people were talking to each other at the window. I waited. After some time they stop talking and one of them stands in front of the order machine next to the drive through window. After a few moments it looks like they start to take the order of a car at the order window behind me 🤔. We left and...
Read moreI went on a Friday evening. I went through drive thru to order my food. I was hesitant bc I was worried about the freshness and hotness of my food. I ordered the catfish basket, boudin balls and a 32oz daiquiri. Surprisingly, the food was hot and made to order. Now, the taste….even though it was hot the food was bland and not well seasoned. The fries was soggy by the time I went home…nothing special about them. I would’ve got their other sides but it cost an extra $3.50 for substitutes. The boudin balls was huge but lacked flavor. The 32oz daiquiri was disappointing bc I didn’t taste no alcohol nor was it strong. I chose the flavors they recommended that was the strongest but it was a let down but it was reasonably priced at $13. Now, the fish was crispy probably too crispy bc the ends were overcooked and crunchy. So I gave this place an 2 out of 5 for their efforts and attempt at Cajun food. I probably won’t go back bc $40 could be well spent elsewhere. That completes my...
