I went to spooky's tonight and had a great time with my family! I ran around, played games with my kids, ate pizza aaaannnnnnd left my cell phone. Oh well no big deal I'll drive back and grab it! (I live 15 miles away from The Dalles) I arrive 20 minutes before closing time and see a note on the door saying they've closed for the night. Okay still no big deal there are still employees inside and I'm sure they will let me in to look for a phone right? I first walk around the parking lot to make sure I didn't drop it outside no luck. So with my sleeping toddler in my arms I approach the front door and knock. No one even bothers to look up..... After a few moments I knock louder...... still no one looks up. Okay now I'm banging on the door and still no luck.... I stood outside for over five minutes banging on the door and no one even bothered to acknowledge me! I left drove around to a few other places to look for my phone and still have a few minutes before Spooky's is supposed to close. I head back giving them the benefit of the doubt and once again knock on the front door. This time the employee turns around and heads to the back. Knock again and still no one comes. Not one single employee was decent enough to come say, "sorry ma'am we're closed." or nod and smile, or politely point to the close sign, or even LOOK AT ME?! I'm not even worth an acknowledgement to you? I just drove over 15 miles to be ignored? That is the rudest thing a company has even done to me. The icing on the cake though? You Jerks are closed tomorrow! I have to wait till Monday to hope I can find my phone. Thanks Spooky's glad you hold your loyal customer is...
Read moreVisited the area from out of town and stayed at a nearby hotel. We are originally from the east coast so when i saw freshly made New England clam chowder on the menu in a homemade sourdough bread bowl i was interested. We stood in a short line, but i walked to the pick up line to ask a question, a man asked if he could take my order, but i said we were waiting our turn in line i just wanted to know if the chowder was freshly made, if it had a lot of potatoes bcz id prefer not too many). He gave me a ladleful in a cup to try. It was delicious. My husband had the Bigfoot which he loved. We ordered a pitcher of beer (48 oz - ash cloud amber). A great meal. The guy turned out to be the manager. He stopped by our table to check on our meal (and the chowder). The meals were filling, and good proportion. Lots of families and olenty of seating.
You order at the counter (including your drinks). You pick up your drinks at an adjacent counter. Your food is delivered to ur table according to a number tent they give you. The beer is served in a frosted mug As a few others commented, the outside may be a little dated, but the inside is clean and the waitstaff efficient and friendly. It has a cabin-y atmosphere with several seating sections so you don't feel like you're in too large a place.
Looking forward to stopping again next time we're in the area. There were so many amazing choices.
Thank you, Santiago, for your personal attention, service, and great experience. It was a most enjoyable meal. We will...

Ordering felt hostile, I felt like the teenager was completely put out by me ordering. I then went and got a table, an employee was clearing it. I attempted to make small talk as she finished up and simply just stared at me and walked off. My pizza came out in about 8 minutes which was a red flag. We’ll get to that. I asked the person who brought the pizza if I could get a plate and some serving utensils. They simply pointed across the room to an area that had them. The pizza itself was terrible. On the plus side a very nice amount of cheese and the sauce was fine. But the crust! Who thinks this is good!?!?!? Dry, crumbly and zero flavor. This is where the 8 minute delivery time concern came in. This is obviously frozen crust. There’s simply no way it’s made in the kitchen. Think of the worst frozen pizza brand from the supermarket and make it worse. It was that bad. And it wasn’t cheap. I’ll never complain about pizza from Dominos. I’m paying less than $10. For $10 it’s great! For $20 it would be terrible. Spooky’s is $20 and it’s far worse...
