Visiting from Jacksonville...and I wasn't expecting to find the best pizza I've ever had in Georgia. This pizza is unbelievably good. They use a sourdough crust, grate their own cheese, and the ovens must be special because the cheese was perfectly carmelized. Usually brick ovens give you a beautiful crust - but the cheese doesn't have those lovely little brown bits. The ones that tell you the cheese was bubbling away in the oven. Absolute perfection here. The staff was really cool; great vibe. You could tell they have a lot of regulars because the customers knew the servers names and vice versa. Nice to see a place where people walk in and get three or four , "Hey Joe's" and a lot of smiles. I didn't get the pasta - but the server, Megan I think told me that everything was made in house. The noodles, the sauces, everything - the owner is a no chemicals, no preservatives person. Concerned with quality and fresh ingredients above everything else. Impressive place - and doubly so for being in a small town. Trust me, aj moonspin would shine in Jacksonville...
Read moreWe came from out of town to Thomasville, but didn’t realize that most places are closed on Sunday. My mom suggested we come to this pizza place because she had been there about five years ago with my dad and they really enjoyed it. She said the food was just as good as it has always been. We got Coke and lemonade, cheesecake for dessert which was very rich and creamy, mozzarella sticks that were cheesy gooey inside with a sweet marinara sauce that seem homemade, the lasagna Bolognese which tasted fresh and came with Caesar salad and really good Caesar dressing, the hunters moon pizza which tasted natural and had a lot of meat toppings. The portions are big, and the food seemed fresh, not frozen. Our waiter was Emmanuel and he was very attentive and checked on us frequently. He was very patient and kind while we went through the menu since we have not been in so many years. He also had very good manners and worked quickly. The other servers who sometimes brought the food were also very kind. I would definitely recommend this place, especially...
Read moreWe were in town for the night and looking for something close by. Lucky for us, we chose this restaurant. We were early enough to find a seat easily, again luck, the place was full by the time we left. The table was clean, chairs comfortable, and service was good. The beer list had some variety, not a huge selection but ok. Food was terrific, we ordered cheese bread and a bowl of spaghetti, plain with only tomato sauce. The cheese bread was a plate-sized pizza crust with a thick layer of cheeses melted together on top of the crust. The crust was really good and the cheese topping was flavorful, not too chewy but plenty of body to go with that great taste. The spaghetti came with a small salad which was adequate, the noodles were firm and the sauce was outstanding! It was a little sweet, a little tangy, good body, good spices, just dang good sauce! I wish we lived closer to south Georgia, I would love to go back to AJ Moonspin Pizza and try everything else...
