The Alibi Bar and Lounge — Restaurant in Thomasville

I've come here many times with zero issues. But tonight was just really awful. Tonight was the first time that I was ever searched, and it was very strange. Some homeless looking dude with a staff t-shirt asked me If I had any weapons and I said no because I don't carry weapons. I forgot that I had my work knife in my pocket and when I realized I had it, I told a staff member immediately, and they offered to hold it out of my reach until I was ready to leave. I was cool with that because it's the moral thing to do. But the homeless grandpa-looking dude kicked me out and banned me because I wasn't" honest" with him about my box cutter when, in reality, I didn't realize it was on me. I know that I made a mistake too, but that staff member was so disrespectful and banning me for life was way too extreme. Just drink at home or go someplace else that respects loyal customers. Came from a bad experience at another bar. A kind bouncer let me pop my head in to look around, ask the cover, ask about the number of bartenders, etc. Came in at a cheap $5 cover, stood at the bar for 2 seconds and was acknowledged. At 10 seconds of standing there my drink order was taken. At 20 seconds I had both drinks in hand and a tab started. As an industry worker, could not appreciate it more. Thanks to Glen (the awesome music was loud but I'm 90ish% sure that's what he said). If you want flare, hometown bar, and a party in one, the Alibi is my Alibi. Round 2 was in hand after 10 seconds after standing at the bar because my drink order was remember. I for sure can't do that with so many people so I appreciate it. Bartender was friendly, great service!!..Great performance!! However, the posting for tonight said the venue was FREE..yet when we got there it cost $30 for 3 people..nothing was mentioned about membership/non-membership on the post and under price it said FREE ..I found this to be very misleading when I got there, apparently a few others had thought so as well..I don't mind supporting local bands and establishments at all, however, I support honesty as well..No one wants to be hit with a $30+ surprise...
