Seafood Basket — Restaurant in Thornton Township

I live in Chicago and it was my brother and my sister-in-law's anniversary. They love Surf and turf. I took a chance and ordered from Seafood Basket. Right from the moment of the call they could not have been nicer. I had to laugh because I wanted to pay over the phone with a credit card and at first he wasn't sure how to do it but he got somebody and made it happen! Kudos to you! I ordered 2 of the larger dinners for them to pick up. Well it was a complete and 100% success!!! They were so thrilled and when they picked up the food the folks here even said Happy Anniversary! They've been married for 33 years (that's an amazing milestone). They raved about how large the t-bone steaks and lobster tails were and how perfectly seasoned (house special seasoning) potatoes, corn and broccoli tasted. I just want to give a shout out to Seafood Basket and tell you how amazing you are and how jealous I am that there is nothing like you in the city! We have all agreed that we are heading over there to grab food next time I'm out in Homewood. Special thanks to the really kind gentleman that talk to me on the phone even though I grilled you over how everything was cooked....

I ordered it over the phone. I was looking for a good seafood place with good prices and actual good seafood. I came across this place. I ordered #37, which is 1lb Shrimp, 2 crab legs, and 2 lobster tails. (Total-$115) I like e lemons with my seafood, and they had lemon slices in the pan, which is an extra point for me. Also, they gave me a big container of butter n not them small little containers thats halfway full. I add old bay to my butter and lemons and dip my seafood in it. I love how thick and creamy the butter was. I shared it with my husband. It also came with broccoli, corn, and potatoes. It was delicious. I did enjoy it, and I will most definitely go back and recommend it. Whoever was the cook this day did they thing. Hopefully, it tastes the same. We all know you are not gonna get the same delicious...

If zero stars was an option, I’d give zero stars. I’m reading these reviews and I’m certain these are individuals who have not had a good seafood boil. My crab legs were hollow, no meat inside any of them. The shrimp was over cooked. The seasoning was salty no spice. The drawn butter was still cold and a consistency of paste. For a Mother’s Day meal I was so very disappointed. I think they put anything in our neighborhoods that they perceive we like, and any other ethnicity of people will cook it. Seafood boils are a delicatessen and not meant to be like a Mc Donald’s. Seafood boils are a culture. I imagine if one is high or drunk this might be good to them. I could have certainly done without. Worst I ever had. My standards may me to high considering where I’m at. Mc Donald’s would have been better...
