To Whom It May Concern,
I am writing to formally express my deep dissatisfaction regarding a recent experience I had at your Krispy Kreme location at 17815 Halstead St, Homewood, IL 60430, on July 29, 2025 at 6:22 PM.
I visited the drive-thru and politely asked about the availability of cake batter donuts, which have consistently been unavailable every time I visit this location. I was told—yet again—that they were not available. When I inquired further and asked when more would be available, the young lady working the drive-thru responded with a dismissive and rude attitude, saying, “I don’t know,” in a tone that was anything but courteous. I asked a follow-up question regarding availability in the morning, and was met with the same cold, unprofessional response: “I don’t know.”
To make matters worse, the employee in question—an African-American young woman with long nails and a visibly unkempt weave hanging over the drive-thru window—was not wearing any kind of hair restraint. As someone who has worked in restaurant management, I found this highly inappropriate and unsanitary. It showed a complete lack of respect for food service standards, customer interaction, and basic hygiene.
Why does this location continue to hire employees who clearly do not understand or care about customer service? A drive-thru employee should be able to answer basic product availability questions without attitude or sarcasm. If they can’t, perhaps they should not be working in a customer-facing role.
I left this location extremely dissatisfied and deeply frustrated. If that young woman was not the manager, I would hope that a manager was present and took note of her behavior. I expect a response from management regarding how this situation is being handled and what steps are being taken to ensure that future customers are not treated in the same unacceptable manner.
Should I not hear back from the store’s leadership, I will escalate this complaint further through corporate channels. Customers should not be made to feel disrespected, especially when simply asking questions about...
Read moreThis was my very first time visiting this location. I haven't eaten Krispy Kreme in many years. I placed an order online for my two grandchildren for Grandparents day at their school on the 9th of September. I ordered my granddaughter the barbie donuts but no barbie box. I ordered my grandson the flavors he likes according to his mom. Long story short the entire staff especially the so called manager was extremely rude, unprofessional, ignorant and just overall tacky. My order was supposed to be ready at 1pm which it was not. The manager was going extremely slow on purpose when I showed up inquiring what is the problem. She did not box the donuts I ordered correctly in separate boxes shown on the website. I proceeded to ask for another bag and she did not give me a bag with my purchase. I reached out to customer service waiting on a call back or email from the District manager or Regional manager. The behaviors of these employees/managers won't be accepted nor tolerated. It's sad when you can't go in your own community and get excellent customer service. Verses when you travel far out the customer service is superb. So just a heads up if you're looking to visit the Krispy Kreme in Homewood Illinois please rethink it because it may not be a good experience for you. And you definitely don't have to take my experience into consideration. I'm only sharing the experience I had at that location. I'm over 55 and I allowed that young, unprofessional manager to take me out of my character. Again as I stated before I'm waiting to hear from the District/Regional managers from that area. Just totally unacceptable and won't...
Read moreI arrived at Krispy Kreme Doughnuts early and there was only one car in front of me and has I gave my order into the microphone and then young lady told me how much my order was I pulled around to the window behind one car. I set there and set there and set they're not understanding what was taking so long to get one car out of the way I set there for a good 10 to 15 minutes and finally when I get to the window the young child and I emphasize child informed me that they had no glazed donuts because their Machinery was down. How in the world do you allow your Machinery BB down and Graves doughnuts is your mainstay. Nobody in management in the store had enough sense to walk outside and tell the people in line old we don't have glazed donuts if that's what you waiting for I was very disappointed in the service or lack of service at this facility in Homewood Illinois. I will not be returning there anytime soon I was so upset by the fact that the manager allowed this child to stay in the window and tell people that their Machinery was down instead of sending somebody outside to tell the other people in the car so I'm sorry I machine is down so people cannot just sit there and waste their time this is bad service at its best period so yes you have lost a customer I am only one person and I'm sure my little one Milo few dollars I sent that won't make you a break you but I'm going to make sure everybody else knows how management does not have a clue. The manager should have been in the window explained in the customers that we're down not this poor little child who sit there and didn't...
