(Sunrise-Sunset/ring road location) 1st off I will Say having mixed reviews, the food was amazingly delicious! It came out hot and I'd say worth all the other things endured! Not sure how we got appetizers and food ordered, but our main dishes/dinner came out way before our appetizers., but only 1 of the appetizers came out the salmon bites never made it to the table , then after a while we told them to forget it! I think because a min 18% gratuity is added on the bill, the waitress was not really caring about the fact that she didn't give us her name, never found out either.
Ok so the back story now: celebrating hubby bday the day before , (Friday night) we had to make a reservation., we did for 9pm, arrived and was seated at 8:55pm. After being pat down and searched (apart of me gets it- but for a reservation style restaurant you don’t have to deal with security of the sort) Our server nor did anyone ever come to our table , not until eye contact was given and she looked over and told us she'll be right with us while taking orders from her major party of a bday celebration of 20+ folks, that weren't all seated at the same time., whom also arrived at various times as well! I nodded to her, that i acknowledged her acknowledging us! All this after waiting for 30 + mins without so much as a greeting or water! She then comes out with multiple employees and sparklers and signs to wish the large party a happy bday! Why wouldn't you wait til after atleast getting us water and introducing yourself first! She took another 15 mins tending to her large party, before I got up to tell someone that they clearly need another waiter/server in that area and to allow her to tend to that party! Then 15-20 mins later she comes, apologized for the wait and takes our order for everything at once (our choice) because who knows when she'd return! She brought us water 5-10 mins later. She was kind and all but, was doing to much and clearly had enough to deal With , with that large party, I agree with the other yelpers review, that it's not the kind of place for reservations cause it turned into a club scene at 10pm, more folks, less control and ultimately just more busy… just how Tilly's was before they opened up, I will Say we love sunrize cafe on Sibley and we ate the breakfast /brunch often and thought we'd try this out, esp supporting black owned! But they have a lot of work to do, I would go back but at less busier times or days. The best that I can say is that the food was worth the agony atleast for...
Read moreI had to five 1 star to write a review. I ordered grill catfish. The fish was spoiled so I sent it back. The sever never apologized she just asked me what else I wanted. I really didn’t want anything else but my friend was eating her hibachi. I tried to order some grill chicken but the server told me since they cooked the grill chicken fresh to order it would be 20 minutes otherwise I could get fried chicken instead. This comment convinced me that the fried chicken wouldn’t be cooked fresh. My friend felt sick from her food and had to regurgitate. She then asked for the manager. When he came to our table I asked him was he aware that I received spoiled fish. He never apologized either and told me the fish was fresh I just didn’t like the seasoning. He proceeded to ask my friend if she dranked some weed juice, or had stomach problems, or was she allergic to seafood because the food is fresh. The manager never apologized but sent the cook to the table. I told the chef the fish was spoiled. He said it wasn’t because he cut it this morning. It’s 8pm so it’s safe to say if he cut the fish this morning it sat out all day because it was spoiled. The server came back to the table and said the manager told her to give us the check. I said you can go get him because the only food I was paying for was the chicken appetizer we ate prior to the dinner. The manager still didn’t apologize. He left the check with the wings but didn’t apologize at all. I left the money for the wings and left. On my way out I asked the manager his name. He said his name is Wayne. Wayne is the bald guy. I would never...
Read moreOK, so we tried this restaurant today from the moment we walked in I was somewhat frustrated. They have a patio but it was closed at 12:00 PM. He told us we could stay on it, but there would be no service to the patio when we looked on the patio, there was cigarette bugs and it was dirty. Then we waited 45 minutes for our food in about 30 minutes for our drinks, including the appetizer, the appetizer came with the food I ordered the lamb chops and eggs and my husband ordered the shrimp and grits. The lamb chops were OK but the eggs has shells in them and we’re not edible. I asked for a different batch of eggs and the waiter didn’t come back to our table until another hour later by that time, we just wanted to be compensated in addition to that our appetizer was the collard green dip which was pretty good, but it was very salty and on the side of us was a woman in the pit and she appeared to be either drugged out or intoxicated. She was yelling and screaming at the TV All kind of obsidian. No one called the police on her, and the staff continued to argue back-and-forth with her, but no one ever called the police and they ruined the atmosphere. There was also another woman who have been waiting for her food who had to take out order and she have been waiting for over an hour and she got into a very big argument with the staff, which also ruined the atmosphere Overall, it was a two out of 10 experience because they at least could have compensated one of our meals for having shells in the eggs that really wasn’t edible. It was very disappointing and I will not be returning to...
