Marshalls — Local services in Thornton Township

Went through the checkout line twice and got the same cashier where both incidents happened. First one was they didn’t honor the red price tag on an item that had multiple price tags on it and were told that the tag didn’t match the item when we had another item for the same price and same brand just different flavoring, she tried charging us more and we didn’t complain about it because it was a small item no big deal, we told her to leave it and we didn’t want it. During that first transaction we also purchased a 32oz container for $12 also had a reduced price tag and was in the same area. As we were done and walking out my husband decided that they were cheap enough and we should get another one so he proceeded to go get one and get back in line, he didn’t notice the container not having a price tag on it but we had purchased the same one same brand and size for the $12. Again the refused and asked us to show the receipt, when we did they still refused and tried arguing that it was a different container so they called someone to go price check and she went and got a smaller container for a much higher price and kept telling us that was the only item back there. They proceeded to argue with my husband and told him if he got the bigger one they would charge him more because of the size and that there was no other container, i had to go out of my way to go to the back and get it myself and meanwhile they’re arguing and gaslighting my husband at the counter. I ran to the back and the container they stated wasn’t there was clearly there and when brought to the front they still hesitate to honor price and we received no apology for the arguing and combative attitude we received from 3 separate women one whom i assumed was...

Usually my experience at this store is great and the workers are pleasant. This last time I went August 14, 2025, with my kids they were being kids and loud when I was checking out. The worker checking me out was talking to her other colleague in front of my face about our kids and making multiple snarky comments like “I see why day care is so expensive”. I understand our kids were being loud, but Andrea was very ignorant and I felt so embarrassed and uncomfortable. I’ve never had this experience anywhere else. Not everyone has a daycare or the means leave their children at home. This is a family store and I had over $200 worth of items for our family and they seemed irritated and like we were an inconvenience. The ignorance with this younger worker is one I’ve never experienced...

11/09/2016- The checkout line was Extremely Slow and the cashiers we're very disorganized. Customers who had the misfortune of needing an item price checked we're waiting at the register for almost 30 minutes. A cashier actually started putting clothing on hangers and folding even as the line increased from 6 people to over 20.

There seem to be no systems in place and the cashiers lack a sense of urgency. Which in my opinion shows a complete lack of respect and appreciation to the people choosing to patronize this store considering all the other options in that area.
