Today I went to The Taco Place in Dolton IL. I order two nachos. One with cheese and meat and one with everything except tomatoes! I get my order itās incorrectly made! I politely wait in line to just ask that my order be remade.
There is a sign that says the will gladly remake or credit the order but there is no cash refunds! I get to the cashier she says the order is correct. That she took my order and that she repeated it back to me! I know for a fact I said the same thing twice because I have a child that only eats cheese and meat! So I ask to speak to a manager. The cashier offers me a refund for the portion of the order that was incorrect. I clear state that I just want it remade. The āmanagerā comes out 10 minutes later stating that she took my order and that it was my fault for not hearing her correctly so she will not remake my order. She then turns around to say that the kitchen is closed and that I could get cold food!
I state that it was two other orders that they had just remade but she wonāt remake my order?! She tells me that there was only one order that was remade. She had a nasty disposition. I told her it makes no sense to refund me half and now my food is cold. I just wanted a full refund because of her approach to a customer! I do not know what she would have done to my food if she remade it even though that was not an option at 7:47pm and they close at 8:00pm. I was there for over 30 minutes! I call non-emergency to get the police there. They let her give me a partial refund and let me take home cold food.
As a business owner I know that the customer is not always right but I also know how I run my business! You can not have a sign up that says no cash refund but offer a cash refund! The kicker is you refund me what you wanted not what was right.
Anyone who has lived in Dolton or South Holland has eatten there. Iāve been going to The Taco Place for years and Iāve never had a bad experience until today and they will never get another...

The black cashier who says her is Emilia ( which she may be lying but Iām specifically speaking about y the young black girl who served us) we always have at least 3-4 different orders for different people. For some reason no matter how many orders you have they want to give you only one red sauce and only one green sauce. We asked to have individual sauces per order. Informed we would even pay for them! We was told we would just get them it to worry about it. But when we started to drop orders off again like we do every week sometimes 2x a week still we were only given 2 sauces 1 green 1 red sauce for the order. Which makes no sense because if we each walked in individual and places these same orders we would each get 2 sauces per our meal. We called back and spoke to the so the called Emilia( the black cashier) and she said she told us we could only get the one with the order and then I told her we told you we would even buy it! She said they donāt sale small ones .. we didnāt asked for small ones we asked for individual sauces regardless of the size. Then she got smart mouth, so I said then I want to bring my meals back! She proceeded to say we donāt give refunds. I said ok you just lost a customer . Who order at least 1to 2 times a week with no less then 3 orders each time. Do not patronize this business. They do not value their customers. They think you owe them for coming to patronize their business..they have lost a least 20 customer because of this incident and the way ( Emilia the black cashier handled the situation) because I told all my family about this on going situation and some of them have had similar experiences so we all decided not to patronize this business!!!! The lady thatās at the front, normally passing out orders with the glasses is amazing!!!!! Iām really big on good customer service and she always delivers! However..... the lady that takes the phone orders is terrible. She refuses to give me a total whenever i call in my order. 3 days ago around 3pm, My initial call to place my order and ask the total was ended with āsomeone is on the register so I donāt know but itāll be ready in 15/20 mins byeā. And she just hung up on me. I called back in 10 mins and asked the total. She says āsomeone is still on the register. Just pay when you get in.ā I said ābut idk how much it is. Iāve called in and got my total before so Iām not sure the problem now.ā She said āyes thatās a different personā. I said āwell can i hold on for her?ā She gave a big sigh and said āitāll be a long wait.ā Then came back 2 mins later with my total but she said it so fast I didnāt hear it and then hung up on me AGAIN! At this point i donāt even want the food. So I call back and tell her my name and said I wonāt make it in to get my food and she hangs up on me for a 3rd time.
