It's a shame because I like the food, but the customer service is what stops me from going here 95% of the time. Out of all the fast food restaurants in the area, I have NEVER experienced worse service than I have at this White Castle.
It doesn't matter if I go at breakfast time, lunch time or late at night. Someone on the staff is always rude or just unprofessional. There have been serveral occasions where I pull up to the drive thru and they say "one minute" and I sit there for 10 minutes. They must make each order fresh, because when I get to the window it's always at least 5 minutes (usually more) before I get my order. But somehow the fries are always luke warm and/or soggy.
The final straw for me was when they gave me the complete wrong order. I parked and tried to go in, and the doors were locked at 10 PM (even though there are several signs saying that the lobby is open 24 hours). A couple employees looked over at me, I'm sure they could see I had a White Castle bag in my hand. But of course, no one bothered to come over and unlock the door. I had to get back in the drive thru line...... so overall that day, I spent over an hour there waiting in lines, and the way that the employees handled it was just completely unprofessional and they were rude, as if I was the one in the wrong. When they were the ones who gave me a different order.
So, I will never go back to this location after that. It seems like the entire staff needs to be fired and start over, or retrain them. You would never experience that kind of customer service at the McDonald's down the street, because their employees know how to treat customers. I've never been disrespected there or treated poorly. Also, many of the workers at White Castle look sloppy or have dirty uniforms. Whenever I go in, or see one of them come out of the restaurant, they just don't look put together at all. Again, that's why I go to the McDonald's down the street, where everyone looks clean and put together, and treats you with kindness...

I frequent this location almost daily usually in the morning for a breakfast sandwich on toast. I have to mention that the breakfast sandwich is always fresh and the service is impeccable.
Occasionally I go there in the evening for a slider. I usually pay with cash but there have been times that I pay with a credit/debit card. On this particular visit I payed with my card. The young lady at the drive thru was staring at the numbers on my card. As she is finishing the transaction she stares at the card intensely again before she hands me the card without a receipt. I stay at the window for a moment and she pulls out her phone quickly and starts to type. I immediately thought that was odd so I called the location and asked to speak with a manager. The person who answered said they was the manager. The person’s vernacular was a bit off to be a manager but okay. I explained what occurred and the person was seemingly unconcerned about what I was relaying to them. This lead me to believe that was the same person at the drive thru window. I am filing a complaint with corporate as well. What’s so shameful about this is you are trying to steal from people who already don’t have much. Anyways watch out or pay in cash at this location. Read moreTerrible customer service at this location on halsted , line always long and backed up . Went here today around 3:40 team member # 1691 handed me my food at the window money is taken at . There is cars behind me and one in front of me with no room to get out . She had the window cracked and said I hate when people don’t move out the line when they get the food I would’ve been tried to get out she just sitting right here like a dummy . for one move the line and you wouldn’t have this issue and secondly I’m not going to try to squeeze my car out and possibly hit my car or some one else car because your line is backed up . Practice better time management . She argues with me and close window I ask for the manager who is a big girl with red hair who didn’t even apologize for her employee actions and their customer service . The employee comes behind the manager as I’m talking to the manager and takes her head set off and say I swear I would get fired for fighting and puts her head out the window like she want to fight and I told the manager this is how you let your employees act .
