It’s hard to mess up a breakfast burrito; they did a good job of it though. The entire menu is unappealing. It does seem to be catering to a new-age, yuppie/posh customer base.
The dish I ate was a giant pile of wet health-food tortilla which had about 1 egg worth of overcooked scrambled egg, maybe the equivalent of one chopped up sausage link and a bunch of mushy potatoes. It had a small amount of what tasted like canned green chili “smothering” it. That only succeeded in making it soggy and added no Mexican appeal to the burrito. It was topped with a pile of lettuce and tomato. It was unpalatable and I only ate the filling — what little there was — out of the soggy tortilla when i finished, the plate essentially had everything it came with aside from the avocado which I ate and was really all I tasted, as it was a pile of bland lettuce, tomato and tortilla. Terrible. The fruit bowl was good — fresh crisp fruit; it was the only part I enjoyed.
The waitress and hostess both asked how it was. I answered, “awful”. Neither of them responded, apparently not actually concerned with the experience and just asking out of etiquette or something. They neither asked to allow me to speak to the manger, get a different dish or remove it from the bill — aka, they couldn’t have cared less how it was.
Overall, I’m not sure what would be appealing to a repeat customer.
My friend had an omelette; which likely tasted better than the mess I was served. His was a skimpy plate and the cook does not know how to make an omelette. It looked bad; it was flat a simple fold over meager filling and looked like something with no loft. Clearly just scrambled an egg or two fried it stiff and folded it over the chincy filling.
A very low quality, overpriced, dinning experience aimed at a snooty clientele. I do not recommend...
Read moreI Am beyond upset right now. As a customer i have been coming to this place since it was Called the Egg & I. And have witnessed the different owners. Even got to personally know me and my family. Today i decided to stop by for breakfast. A male Server attended me. He was nice and friendly at first, i was even open to the breakfast burrito sugestión and adding a Pineapple/coconut pancake for an Additional $3, which i accepted. He also asked if i wanted ranch potatos which i was expecting my regular básica/simple ranch potatos i always get. Not no potatos with bacon, cheese & sour cream for an additional up charge😡 when the check came my total was almost $36😡 and notice a $7.00 griddle up charge plus an addtl $3.00 pancake. I asked to speak to my server and he came with a hispánic lady w/ black hair light skin compleción, which appeared to be a manager. He explained to me that the $3.00 was a fee if i would of had Sustituted the bread, & I immediately knew he was just saying that to look good in front of his boss. So i looked at him and politely responded “but the burrito came with no Toast. and for him to be silly🥸 after all he had been the one to imply it was $3 for the pancake add on. Then they both left the lady said she would take the $10 off of my check and took my boxes pancake with her. Then came back alone and asked if i still wanted it, she would let me have it for Half off! I looked at her like… really? For starters I also waittress for a living and off the bat if I would’ve been put in a similar situation, as a courtesy I would’ve given it as a complimentary and maybe even a coupon for the next visit. You would think that coming here for many many years a little Appreciation would’ve been shown but not even close. So yes I’m...
Read moreThis was our first time here and we will be back. They do have dining in and keep an open table in between each one they seat and so there's more than the recommended 6ft between parties. They have a dedicated in and out door and the place is very clean including the bathrooms. They have you wait in your car or outside once you are on the list to decrease the amount of people in the lobby. The host staff could have been a little more welcoming and that front area gets a little congested with people waiting for tables, getting on the list and paying. In my opinion having the waiter take the payments instead of having to pay at the host stand would alleviate that. Or server was very nice and efficient overall. My only criticism is that we were done eating for about 10 min before she noticed and then she had to bring back the check, but also not a deal breaker. We had the strawberry banana waffle and the veggie benedict and they were both very delicious. We asked for the nuts on the waffle to come on the side and they never did, but again no huge loss. We got a to go box to take some food home and then went to pay (because I couldn't hold everything we had and control my toddler at the same time with the food box) and the bussing staff cleaned the table off while we were paying so that was a bummer, but in their defense it probably seemed like we had left. So just little things could have amounted to another star. I'm sure getting back into the swing of things for dining in played a part but I suspect that should get ironed out soon. We will be back and hope to be able to add...
