El Azteca Mexican Food — Restaurant in Thornton

This is my go to place for breakfast on the weekends since I run my own business and they are usually fast. I called at 1130am on Saturday Jan 5th to place my order in for 3 basic breakfast burritos. They said it would be ready in 15mins. I got there at 1148am. My husband went in while I stood outside with our baby. 1155am I call him and ask what’s taking so long and he was still waiting. Saw people that got there after us leave with their orders. Finally at 1210pm husband went up and expressed everybody else already got their orders. The girl then pointed to the cooler where they apparently been sitting on the cooler the entire time and the girls never even noticed! This is not the first time! I let the first time slide, I know how businesses can make mistakes. But really mean well and trying to make a living. When We pulled away and started to eat our burritos they were cold and stiff. Given this was the 2nd time, we went back to get our refund this time. I’m putting this review on here because if your going to have that option to have an order to placed make sure you guys have an organized process for those orders. Ordered from DoorDash for the first time. Food came fairly quickly, less than an hour for a Friday night. My daughter and I each ordered the #5 enchilada combo, my husband the #14 chimichanga combo, and my other daughter the cheese quesadilla. The combos each came with a drink, but we were missing one drink when delivered. Oh well. I opened my enchiladas and started eating the rice and beans. Meh at best. Very bland. I then took a bit of the enchiladas. Absolutely horrible. I’m not a picky eater at all. These were so terrible. I just said “nope, nope, nope”. My husband took them and said “they can’t be that bad”. He took a bite and spit it out. My daughter who’d taken her food to her desk to work on school work and was thus unaware of what I said, brought hers down and wouldn’t eat it. Hubby tried his chimichanga and said “not much better than the enchiladas, but I’m hungry” so he ate it. We will never eat here again. Do yourself a favor and order El Mirador. Always delicious. I go here all the time! The service is fast and always super friendly! They are always so kind and helpful! The dining area is simple. Always clean but not really restaurant style. There are seats, but it feels more like a place to sit and wait for Togo food, but you are more than welcome to eat in. Tonight I ordered chicken nachos and veggies fajitas. The nachos come with a generous portion of chicken on a nice bed of chips. It comes with beans, Pico, sour cream and guacamole and some shredded cheese. I would order with extra cheese if I were you! The fajitas are delicious! Very flavorful and the vegetables were cooked delightfully. Not to soft not to hard. Very well seasoned! The rice is usually bland but the beans are good. It's a decent portion. I've had bigger at some places and smaller at others. Their beans are good. By default it comes with one flour tortilla. Idk if they offer corn tortillas instead I have never tried. Everything I have had here has always been good! 9/10...
