I'm in my mid-thirties and I can recall fun memories of this restaurant concept (I'd never eaten at this specific one, but the one on 104th). This restaurant has plenty of parking and the food we had was great! We tried the fries and funnel cake fries, both warm and cooked to perfection. I deducted a star due to the service. It wasn't bad necessarily just less than what I had expected from this restaurant based on my past visits to the other Gunther Toody's. I ordered online with a platform called "toast" which was the order app that was on their website along with their menu. I ordered 40 minutes prior to close and selected curbside delivery & entered in my cars make and model for identification. We were the only car in the parking lot directly in front of the building. We sat there until approximately 8:50 pm waiting for the curbside delivery (they close at 9 pm) as time crept closer to closing I decided to go in to get the food. That's not a big deal, but don't have it be an option on your ordering site if the service is not going to be provided. I stood there for a few minutes and I saw 3 waitresses, two tables of guests however I didn't get acknowledged for several minutes and my order was just sitting there on the counter. I finally walked further back to the sit down bar area and on waiters finally acknowledge me and had me sign for my order. I mentioned that it was curbside and that we have been waiting for 30+ minutes and she apologized but in a way that made me believe she had no idea that was a service being offered? Who knows what happened I mean honestly me having to walk is not a big deal, but don't put something on an order site and have your customers expect something is going to happen and it not. There were no napkins in the bag, so I requested some before leaving. When I ordered the funnel cake fries I requested they put on whip cream however they had put the whip cream in these little to go dipping sauce containers which I thought was strange & wondered why they didn't put it directly on the fries, maybe because it was to-go? Who knows, but it was kind of silly and wasteful for two plastics sauce containers to have whipped cream in them, both of which were runny by the time we got it to the car. All in all the food was actually really good: the funnel cake fries are amazing and we will get them again. They came with icing which was delicious and the texture was just perfect so they nailed the food. The service just wasn't there and the gals don't dress in the 40s and 50s costumes that they used to, they're just wearing plain street clothes so it kind of lost its luster for me to be honest so definitely not what it used to be and that's kind of disappointing but the food we...
Read moreI have gone to this location several times and have normally had amazing service the food is what you would expect it's so so it's not the best but it's not the worst. However the last time I have gone I had the worst service ever. A server by the name of Popeye was the one that was supposed to take care of us. He was there long enough to take our drink orders and our food order and we never saw him again. They really weren't that busy at that time. If he would deal with new customers as they were being seated in a section but not once did he stop to check to see if our order was okay when we got it. No one asked if we needed anything else. My friend who was with me needed more to drink nobody was asking to see if refills were needed. I had to flag down the hostess to see if we could get our server to get refills on our drinks. She came back and said she would just take care of it herself. We finished and sat there for about 5-10 minutes nobody said anything finally I had asked a busser if they could get our server so we could get our check. About 5 minutes later our server comes by and says do you need refills or anything else how is how is everything? And we told him no we just wanted our check. He went to get it and he stood right over me watching as I paid. And then as soon as he saw that I did not tip which is not normal for me. I usually always tip but the way I look at it was the service I got that day was the equivalent of walking into McDonald's. Our server then started making comments about thank you for being so patient and being such great customers and a very side way and then when we asked him to repeat what he said it was even more side and he's like you got a problem do you need me to get my manager. We said that we were good and we were going to leave as we did not want to have seen created specially chance screwing up anybody else's meal. I waited till it would be the slow. Around 2:00 or 3:00 and made a phone call to talk to the manager. I explained what happened she was completely appalled very apologetic and ask for all the information from my receipt and told me that she was going to discount and credit back some to my card. Is now been over a week since that happened and there was still nothing credited back. Granted I didn't call asking for this but when you sit there and say hey I'm going to do this you should follow through. And given the fact that the manager was willing to try to make this right I was actually willing to go back there but the fact that there was no follow-through in regards to what they said they were going to do makes it so I don't think I will be returning to this...
Read moreWe love Gunther Toodys. We eat there regularly. My daughter decided to celebrate her 15th Birthday dinner at the Larkridge location. We had a total of 11 people in our party. We tried ordering several appetizers. They were out of the first 3 choices. I am diabetic and my blood sugar was dropping so I finally just asked what they did have in. She brought us an appitizer sampler. Several of the kids tried to order shakes and they were out of all the ingredients. They were able to make a couple of shakes, however our waitress forgot she had made one. So she brought a random shake over. At this point we start wondering if this was a sign but my daughter really wanted the Birthday dance. So we start trying to order our meals. Every meal had to be substituted for a completely different meal as they were apparantly out of everything. 45 minutes latet the food finally starts coming out of the kitchen. We have to wait anout 10 minutes in between food runs. So some of our party was finishing their meals while other members had not even received theirs yet. As we start eating we realized our entire order was messed Up. We had to send french fries back 3 times before just settling. I asked the waitress what was going on as there was only one other table of customers besides us in the restaurant, our food was very slow coming out and wrong. Our waitress was almost in tears. She apologized, but we continued to have to send food back. I asked her what was going on, why they were literally out of food and she said because they were to busy to order it, but they should have a shippment on Wednesday. I was taken bqck by that. The cooks (a man and woman who is apparently the managaer) were giving the waitress a hard time when she refused to take raw onions instead of sauteed onions. My husband finished his glass of water to find a dried on milk ring in the bottpm of the glass. So everyone starts looking at their cups, and there were 2 cups with some nasty residue dried to the cups. We decided at that point we were done and ask for the manager. She came over very defensive asking what do I qant her to do. I asked if she would comp some of it for the absolute inconvenience. She told us she would remove the .99 guacamole they forgot to put on my burger and I had asked for it 3 times. My daughter's birthday dinner was completely ruined by this restaurant tonight and we still ended ip paying the full $175 bill. In my opinion the manager Laura is a disgrace to company name and her role needs to be...
