So, I strolled into Kung Fu Tea with high hopes for a taste of authentic Thai tea boba. Imagine my disappointment when the drink that landed on the counter looked more like a plain old milk tea. As someone familiar with traditional Thai tea's vibrant orange hue, I couldn't ignore the stark difference.
In my quest for clarity, I approached the counter, only to be met with a lackluster response. I asked why was the Thai tea wasn’t its traditional orange color, the staff said the absence of condensed milk was the reason for the color difference. Thai tea itself is orange from the spices before any dairy is added to it. So that made zero sense. It’s clear they are not using Thai tea. Instead of addressing the issue or offering alternatives, it was a nonchalant "that's how we make it" attitude and an acknowledgment that a lot of people have had the same response to the Thai tea. A bit of customer service wouldn't have hurt.
As if that wasn't enough, the staff's behavior added another layer of disappointment. While I was sipping on my less-than-satisfactory tea, the employees engaged in an unprofessional conversation about hitting up the casino. It felt like I stumbled into a casual hangout rather than a place of business.
All in all, my Kung Fu Tea experience was a huge letdown. From the misleading Thai tea to the indifferent staff, it left me questioning why I bothered stepping in. Zero stars for a lackluster tea time with an unnecessary side of...
Read moreI literally go to a Kung Fu Tea every day (not something I’m proud of but it is what it is). This is my first time at this location. The amount of boba given for our drinks was unacceptable. When I went to ask, the young man said that was the normal amount, one scoop. It was literally well less than half the amount of the average given at other locations. I have seen the scoop and how much it is. He also said they had run out, so I replied so that’s what it is and again he insisted that was the normal amount. Honestly if he had just said, sorry we have run out and that’s all we had left, I would have been okay with that. If this is the normal amount of boba given for a drink, that is ridiculous.
I’m not one to complain but I do believe that customers should be given the quality product that they pay for. I will never return to this location again.
Photo is of one of our drinks. I had just poked the straw but no tea or boba had...
Read moreI get milk tea all the time, honey green tea with milk cap/foam/whatever creamy topping they have. I especially like visiting Kung Fu Tea. This was my first time visiting this location. I preface that I get milk tea all the time, because I've never tasted what I tasted in my order here. Both the tea and the milk cap had a sour/rotten taste to them, almost like it was fermented, or like alcohol. I didn't ask for a new one because it was "mid", I actually felt like I shouldn't be drinking it. They were kind enough to make me a new drink without the milk cap, and same issue. I'm not sure if there was something foul in the water, but it was quite repulsive and I had to throw both away. Other locations aren't like this, if the owner is reading, I highly recommend checking that the water pipes are all in healthy condition, and that your ingredients...
