UPDATE : I didn't have to wait 24 hours for my bank account to become active again! Around 5pm, I was able to start using my funds and did book a great hotel! With that, I was talking to my husband about why the whole thing went sour. When I called IHG customer service to see what our options were after learning about the freeze, the woman gave me a number to call. That number deals with customer issues and complaints. I wasn't fully aware that's who I was speaking to.I was still heavily medicated from my hospital stay and I didn't think to ask at the time. Anyway, I believe when the manager was sent an email of our situation, the manager may have initially thought I was reaching out to these people to complain when really we were trying to figure out how to handle the situation. Neither here nor there, that should not have prompted the manager to meet us with such hostility. She wouldn't let me talk, and any time I tried to explain ANYTHING, she would cut me off. Also, the employee who kept running my card back to back while I was in the hospital may have not been completely honest. That employee was fully aware I lock my card as at one point he asked my husband to tell me to unlock my card. That is when I was in the hospital trying to keep my throat from closing. Sooo lesson learned. Wells Fargo has a great system to protect their customers and Staybridge.... well...I'll just leave it at that.
When we first stayed here it was great. We were trying to move into our new home and kept getting the run around . Finally we were able to secure a date of June 13. When we found out about the 13th, we asked to say 2 more nights passed the 11th. I was at work so my husband went to the front desk and asked. They said all the rooms were booked. I checked online and sure enough they had multiple rooms open. I thought that was weird for them to say that. Especially since we had already paid hundreds of dollars for this hotel, maybe up in the thousands for the last 6 weeks. We also clean our own room, ( which was not fully clean when we came in and had ants). The ants didn't bother me as we were on the bottom floor and I understood that happened. With that, I bought my own cleaning supplies and would borrow their vacuum. My family and I were quiet and pretty much kept to ourselves. Anyway the morning of our original check out and check back in ( which we had done twice at this point), usually happened around 11am. 4am on the 11th I was rushed to the emergency room for a severe allergic reaction. When I was released from the hospital, I looked at my cellphone and saw Staybridge had continously tried to run my locked debit card over 20 times within an hour! I had told them prior that I always lock my card and if we ever had to extend we would go to the front to prevent this very thing. With that, my bank account was frozen. I had 0 access to my money. I couldn't even transfer my money to another account because Staybridge and their employees had run my card while I was in the hospital numerous times. I prompted the manager of the situation. Their response was nothing less than hostile. Jalene Kramer hung up on me. Before she hung up I heard her call me a lousy N#&#&# racial slur. It then dawned on me why they told my husband they were booked when they weren't. Direct orders from the management. I swear we followed all the rooms, didn't make noise and pretty much slept and ate here while going back and forth to our jobs. I have never experienced the amount of racism and discrimination as I have from this hotel. Especially while shelling out hundreds of dollars. My next step is is to contact 9 news and IHG CEO to make sure this does not happen to anyone else. I am mad I spent the money I did at Staybridge while promoting them as a great hotel. I totally regret it. Also, Jalene kept inceninuating that I didn't have money... again another symptom of her discrimination. Sorry Jalene, people of color...
Read moreOur king/2queens double bedroom suite was very comfortable, spacious, and clean. We have tactile sensitivities, OCD, arthritis, and physical disabilities/wheelchair bound among our family members and we did not ask for or have an ADA mobility accessible room, so for us a “regular” room that is comfortable, clean, and navigable for all is hard to come by!
All amenities were in working order, with plenty of towels in the bathrooms. There is not a full oven in the kitchen but there is a small toaster oven and microwave. In each room, the bathroom sink is in a space open to the bedroom, with the toilet and shower in a separate room. This is fine except that the GFCI plug at the sink has a nightlight which illuminates the entire room and can disturb sleep. We fixed it by covering with a couple of bandaids. The smoke detector also has a bit of a spot light but it was not as bright. The blackout curtains worked pretty well. The sofa bed was adequate; all pillows, mattresses and bedding were comfortable.
The breakfast was good with numerous options: eggs, breakfast meat, potatoes, waffle maker, breads, cereals, fresh fruit, yogurt, oatmeal, toppings and condiments, soda machine, coffee, hot water and selection of teas, coffee mates, pitcher of milk, and half-and-half. There was a juice machine but each day at least one of the juices was so watered down it was tasteless. And there were coffee and hot water dispensers in the lobby, even at 10 p.m.
Small negatives were: small kitchen trashcan, no oven, one kitchen towel, the bright nightlight, and people who smoked under the main entrance canopy whose smoke you then had to travel through to go inside and who caused the elevators to also smell like smoke. Yuck.
The main negative was in the middle of our 3 night stay: a long term guest who woke us up at 2:30 a.m. one night with loud arguing and cursing and the tv on loudly. We had to find the front desk number on the webpage because they did not answer from the room phone. The response was, “Okay, I’ll let him know.” The guest quieted down a little for about an hour but started up again. He must have heard me walking the hall then to determine exactly which room it was because after that he was quiet until 6 a.m., except for the tv which we could ignore. We tried to speak with staff but the one person on duty at the front desk was very busy in the morning. Upon returning at 10 p.m. we spoke with Christina who knew exactly which guest was causing the disturbance and said she would talk with him right away and alert the night staff. We did not hear a single noise from that guest’s room all night! Thank...
Read moreWe absolutely loved our experience at the staybridge in Thornton, CO. From Christina at the front desk with her sweet smile and inviting ambiance to our gorgeous room with enough room to feel like home, I loved the kitchen with a full fridge stove top and dishwasher it really helped us save money on meals during our spring break trip! The kids had their own room and bathroom which was nice when my husband and I like to go to bed early! Housekeeping was so helpful, anything we needed Amber was there to help out from clean towels to extra pillows and I love how on top of getting garbage out of the room she was(especially for a family of 4)! The first night we Barbecued on the gorgeous patio which is located right next to the pool so the kids could swim while we cooked dinner then enjoyed eating on the patio with our family. It was so nice that the tables were big enough that we all could sit around the table and enjoy the beautiful weather! Also I have to give a shout out to Gloria in laundry for how nice it was to always have clean towels at the pool! I know we went through so many! When it was finally time for bed the beds were so comfy with down pillows and soft sheets. I found comfort in the simple clean decor with calming colors. But let’s also talk about how nice the bathrooms were a bath in the double bed room which was a plus for the kids and a gorgeous shower in the king bedroom big mirrors and bright lights plenty of counter space to get ready with all of my products and hair tools. The two room suite was a win for our family! Next morning we made it down to the delicious complimentary breakfast from Belgium waffles to scrambled eggs and a whole fruit bar and my favorite the fresh pastries, Anna made our mornings worth waking up early for! last but not least I must say, way to go the GM Jaylene! I have never seen such a happy place to work you really take care of your employees and it shows in their work! This was 5 star experience for our family, so thank you for the great memories we made ! We are hoping to make this a every spring break trip close enough to enjoy Denver but far enough way to not deal with...
