Words can hardly express my disappointment at my experience here today. After going to the hospital and getting a cast put on I was looking forward to a treat, since I haven’t been to In-N-Out for over two years. In California, it was a delightful experience every single time I went not only because of the quick service but because of the staff! But this time showed me how very little in and out cares for their customers. After someone taking our order, we waited 45 minutes to get our food. The drive-through is in an area that faces west, so we were not only forced to sit in the heat coming through our windows, although the air condition was at full blast, we advanced too slow to even believe. When we finally got to the window, they got our order wrong since I ordered my hamburger with lettuce wrapped around it. Instead of remaking it, the woman had them pull the hamburger out of the sandwich. They didn’t put any tomato or sauce on it and they delivered it back in the box in a wrapper that was too small for the lettuce, so basically the hamburger didn’t stay in the lettuce. I was given no napkins, a minimal apology with an attitude. The hamburger was dry and overcooked. I opted not to take it back because I could not carry it with my crutches into the store. And the curb was too high to use the crutches anyway. I had to call Corporate to ask for a refund. They apologized, which was fair, but don’t expect great service here or great food. In addition because I was still hungry, My Friend offered me a fry, but as you can see from the picture, they were dry and tasted like cardboard. Don’t really feel the need to relieve this experience. I only gave a two star for the atmosphere because the person who took our order was very polite and corporate...
Read moreSoCal native here, who grew up visiting the original in Baldwin Park and graduated to locations throughout all of SoCal in the decades since. To those wondering how this compares to the SoCal restaurants, the In-N-Out in Thornton, CO is fantastic, indistinguishable from the SoCal locations. The restaurant looks exactly the same, from decor and uniforms to the vibe. The menu is the same, including the off-menu menu. The staff here are very comfortable with all the lingo: protein style, monster, animal, dutchman, etc. The flavor is also spot-on: it tastes exactly like the SoCal locations. For those new to In-N-Out ... part of me wants to tell you not to try it to keep this little secret all to myself. But that would deny the rest of you from a truly delicious (and reasonably priced) burger. Each burger is custom-made to your specifications. They expect special orders, and if you tell them you want extra pickles but no sauce, that is exactly what you will get. Not only are the burgers stinking delicious, they make them perfectly, exactly as you ordered them every single time. Our go-to order: Double-double protein animal, double-double animal with grilled and raw onions, two animal fries, chocolate shake, light lemonade. Try it: you will be...
Read moreTake this as 4.5 stars. We came by as first timers on a Friday evening, and were at first scared away by the massive drive thru line. We ended up finding our way into the parking lot to order inside, and it turned out to be pretty painless. It took probably 15mins or so from stepping into the store to leaving with our food, and taking in the unique vibes and friendly workers made it go by pretty fast. In a world where fast food is becoming more expensive and worse in quality, In-N-Out is a much appreciated outlier for me. The cheeseburger was probably the best fast food burger I've had. The shake wasn't the best shake I've had, but for the price it really can't be beat. The one downside, which is why I dock 1/2 a star, was the fries. They just weren't crispy. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and say that they normally are, and maybe I took a bit long to eat them or something, but until I see this for myself I'll have to keep it at 4.5/5
Update: Picked up drive thru for the first time on a Saturday afternoon. It was about 40mins in total, so pretty long, but I was prepared for it. If you say you plan to eat in your car, they'll provide the food in a convenient box, which was super nice. Overall a pleasant drive thru experience, so no change...
