Writing a review for a pizza place feels ridiculous. Even as I type this, I wonder—why should I be upset about pizza? It’s pizza. How hard is it to get pizza right? Meanwhile, the world is on fire, and here I am, reviewing a pizza place.
I’ve ordered from this location before and had issues. I figured, after a year, they’d have worked things out. Turns out, I was wrong.
I placed an order through their website—two pizzas, two breadsticks, and some wings for my family. Even though I ordered directly, DoorDash handled the delivery. No big deal—most places are struggling to keep drivers, so third-party services are common now.
The driver drops off my order, rings the bell, and leaves before I can even get to the door.
One pizza. That’s it.
I call the store. After four attempts—each mysteriously disconnecting before I reach anyone—someone finally picks up. The employee is polite, listens to my issue, and offers a refund or redelivery. I opt for redelivery.
An hour later, the rest of my order arrives.
The breadsticks? Burnt. The second pizza? Missing all of its sauce. The wings? Surprisingly fine. At this point, I’m not calling back. They don’t bother with surveys or "How did we do?" emails because they already know. They know they’re bad.
The staff member I spoke to was nice, but clearly, this location has deeper issues. This review won’t change anything, but at least it might warn others—if you order from here, pick it up yourself.
I get that it’s hard to keep good employees for what they probably pay. But unfortunately, as a customer, you’re the one who suffers for it.
Poor quality. Missing...
Read moreI do not like leaving bad reviews. I have came here for almost a year straight several times a week and I am officially done. Whoever the new people are, they don't know what they are doing. I order pepperoni pizza with double cheese. The pizza does not even have the normal amount of cheese on it. In fact tonight it had almost zero cheese on it. It is burnt ...... so burnt that what little cheese there was. was baked into the crust like freaking rubber. Only little portions of the slices had cheese on them and it was paper thin. Absolutely not the good Papa John's pizza that used to be. I don't know how hard it is to read a screen , when you are even super slow ( now I know why)..... and make the pizza that a customer pays for correctly. This was by far the worst pizza I have ever had. Whoever is working 5-1-25 around 5pm either needs to be retrained or something. WAY overcooked., no cheese, disgusting. Almost not even edible. So you lost a good paying customer, for real. Kind of sad when they all know me be name I am in there so much, but this is not right, almost seems intentional. Oh well I guess, just goes on the list of another one bites the dust from crappy service and food and charging too much to begin with for food this bad. Unreal. This is the fourth time in a week and a half of just disgusting food from Papa Johns E 88th street. I am DONE. Never again. Sorry, but money doesn't grow on trees, at least give customers the food...
Read moreI tried placing an order on line but it was not a mobile friendly site. Everytime I tried entering my information it zoomed in really close and would not recognize what I was typing. Ok, business and life is hard, save $$ where you can. So I called, i think maybe there was noise on the line on their end because I had to repeat everything 3x . They had technical issues and could not accept my credit card. Quoted me 30-40 min. 50 min later started to call. The select 2 for placed orders rang and hung up between ring 4 and 7 approximately 5 different times for me ,4 times for my husband. He then called and pressed the number for placing an order. The gentleman said it is an order taking line only he would transfer us. We were hung up on again.. at this point it has been an hour. I resign to making grilled cheese to feed my hungry toddler and teen. A unmarked car pulls up. Stops in the middle of our side street and we tell him , ' No thank you. Not your fault but it's been over an hour we have food cooking now.. That is when I see a missed call from Door Dash. Being in food service and seeing how door dashes are at restaurants, We do not use them. No offense Dashers, I admire you but....Most have no food safety awareness at best food arrives cold. They should be transparent that they need to use a third party. I feel bad that they need to and.. No thank you. No wonder your website...
